I have 26 years sober. The hardest part was getting to the six month mark. And also learning to live sober. It was so exciting. It was a whole new world exposed to me a whole new life. I finally found myself for the first time.

I have 6 years. It's amazing how fast your life can turn for the better when you get sober. You are right though, the 1st 6 months you feel weird and out of it. You have to relearn how to do a bunch of things, like socialize, find motivation and energy to do things etc. It taught me a lot at a young age and I don't think I'd change it because it made me wiser, humble and who I am today.

When I was 17 my house burned down. My room was detached from the house and being 17 I had snuck a few girls and a couple of homies over the night before thank God because one of the girls woke me up because it was freezing because the power was out due to the fact it was an electric fire when I went into the main house and there was so much smoke i yelled to my mom and my dad whats going on whats burning my mother too had asthma bad asthma. My p.o.s dad bolted and i walked my mom and thank fully the fire wasnt too bad yet I could see and my pup aura made it out but fuck man it was scary man. Proud of you Coleman a man's man for sure. Congratulations on being sober I've been clean for over five years your stories and your perseverance help me stay strong thanks Mark Hammer House!!!

I knew Mark, Kevin and Wes back in the day in Columbus, Ohio. They were good men to everyone in Ohio, wild mfers too. But always just good dudes. As someone who’s battled his own demons it makes me so happy to see Mark in recovery. I’m sure Kevin was in that burning house with Mark while he saved his parents and he let Mark know it wasn’t his time yet. Keep spreading the good word Mark!
