Man these AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3d chips are badass. They're mean for multiple reasons. 1. It keeps up very well with modern chips that have supposedly "succeeded" it. It performs right on par with a non x3d 7700x AM5 chip. It outperforms an 8700G slightly. It benchmarks well still. 2. Its price. When I got it initially, it costed 250ish. Now you can find these between 200 to 240, and that's a hell of a bargain. I've never seen prices plummet so quickly. But this is encouraging to the masses, as poorer people can afford high technology now, this is accessible to all. AMD is great for marketing to the masses and not just to the richest people. It performs really good for the price. You get a really good amount of performance with this. 3. This chip helped show there still is life on the AM4 platform and that the AM4 platform is still going to get support from AMD shows there are still options for people afraid because of the rocky start with AM5 having initial voltage and heat issues because of bad settings by motherboard vendors. Thankfully AMD was quick to fix and honor RMAs and replacements under warranty, and quickly addressed the problem with motherboard manufacturers and helped fix the problem. AM5 seems to have improved since that initial rocky start. But I bought my CPU during the initial rocky start with AM5, and I thought to myself AM4 is better for the time being, because it has very strong VRMs on most motherboards, for it to have lasted this long with fewer issues having been reported on AM4 platform. Sure, maybe i don't have all the bells and whistles and DDR5 and PCIe5 or whatever iteration they have out on the new AM5 chipset, but I still get really good gaming performance, and that's what I'm really after. Frames. I wanna talk about frames with this chip. For the amount of money you pay you're going to join the 100+FPS club for cheap, pretty much any GPU you pair with this above a RX6600 or RTX 2080 you'll see huge FPS gains. I upgraded from a Ryzen 3700x which is still a very powerful and capable processor, and still gets good frames per second in modern games and still benches really high.... but when I upgraded to the 5700x3d I wasn't expecting like 30 to 40 frames per second higher. Some games I throw at this thing surprise the hell out of me. Not all games perform the same, but some games get 150 to 200 frames per second (depending on the area) - I know some folks say you wouldn't be able to tell on a 60hz 4k monitor anyway with the extra frames but I say YES YOU DO. You can tell in smoothness. Your .1% and 1% lows will dramatically increase with this CPU. I've been playing the hell out of Sons of the Forest and Red Dead Redemption on this CPU. Lots of stuff. Diablo 4. In Diablo 4 I get sometimes 120 fps. In Baldur's Gate 3 I get 120+ frames per second in some areas. I use an RX7600 GPU paired with it, with FSR or RSR on (depending on the game, usually upscaling from 1080p to 4k), Frame generation on, Hypr RX on, and most games get way over 100 fps. On my 3700x I'd get like 60 to 70 fps on most games but this CPU makes shit so smooth. For the price its a good deal, especially now. I'm still amazed that this CPU outperforms my 3700x which was clocked way higher. The IPC has improved a great deal, and now instead of 2 CCX modules its one unified 8 core. It makes response time really fast. It auto clocks itself. I don't even mess with overclocking with these chips there's no point. It boosts itself so well. Overall its a good time to upgrade if you're in the market for a CPU, especially if you're on AM4 and are still scared of jumping to AM5 til it has more time to mature. Edit: CPU temps sitting in the low 40s, when gaming it doesn't get much higher than 60C for me.

I've been using an EVGA PSU for about 5 years now. Picked it up before EVGA went belly up. Its a shame, they were a good company.
