This era of UFO was my favorite. The first album I got was No Place to Run and since then I was hooked. The four albums with Paul Chapman are just great. Terri from Mechanix is one of my favorites.

phil mogg - one of the best rock singers that ever was on earth: clings on to the words of the song with his soul - and "kills" you like no one does. one of the best of the best still after all these years.

This is only proof of what an amazing (an sadly underrated) guitar player Tonka was in UFO. Tonka's solo here had meat, bones, melody, punch and crunch. Something UFO is sadly lacking these days. Rock on Tonka!!!!

Amen brother. Paul Chapman is an underrated god on the guitar. Their Wild Willing and Innocent is their best one IMO. I love Schenker but the artistic elements of this album are second to none in 80's hard rock.

the cool thing about music and guitar is that we all have our unique voice & unique way of expressing how we feel. I rather dig that. I love Schenker's playing and am glad we don't all sound like him. if we did we wouldn't want to see him live tearing it up and wouldn't support each other and every one would have the same song. Good job Vinnie.

I think Phil Mogg's vocals, is what gives the band its appealing sound,evidently so,almost all the other positions have been an assortment of musicians,all good in their own styles.

I love the fact that UFO did these fantastic songs in this fashion,Mr Moore does ok on this track but his neo classical noodlings on LOVE TO LOVE are unforgivable,that said the concept of UFO rerecording their greats like this is a plus for me.

I will go on record as saying that"The Wild,The Willing..." is the pinacle of UFO's recorded history and that Paul Chapman was the better man for UFO on a lot of different levels besides just his playing.Now I will wait for the Schenkerphiles to burn me at the stake.Vinnie is fantastic live/studio on the full out rockers but too widdly for the quieter songs.Honorable mention to Atomik Tommy and Laurence Archer as well.Love Schenker but Chapman nudges him out.He seemed more like one of the gang.

@Jezzer345 No, it's not better than the original. Paul played his heart out on this one. It's Perfect. Funnily enough, I think Michael (Schenker) would have played something similar to Tonka's effort. One of UFO's best ever.

Big fan of UFO. I love the live version of Phil. Mature and soulful. I love Vinnie Moore. But this should have had Tonka on it. The original solo was so heartrenching. This solo is Vinnie's but not UFO's.

Schenker never played this song,it was Paul Chapman & when it comes to playing with feeling nobody can't top Schenker all you have to do is look at his large list of great songs from UFO to MSG,I like Vinnies's playing but I Love Schenker's unique way of playing!

I agree, although, Paul Chapman's unique, admirable, memorable, melodic solo on the original studio version of this song, is unsurpassed. Every guitarist would like to think, feel and create such a melodic solo, as Paul's on "Profession Of Violence". Vinnie Moore's neoclassical approach and technique is very good, but in my opinion, this song is marked, except Phil Mogg's voice, from Paul Chapman's guitar melody! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m5N0ktmJlcrTZZ8.html

One the few post-Schenker UFO songs that can rightfully be called a classic. Paul Chapman's greatest solo, totally ruined by Vinnie Moore. If ever a solo had an iconic hook intro, this is it and Vinnie Moore can't even get that right.

Same comment as I posted on one other ufo song AXELFLYERFV I hate to say this but if one of the new shitty superstar solo singers sang this ,UFO would get some reccognition and due praise they deserve. This song is as good as it gets

Vinnie does a good job here, but he does'nt get the feel of the song right. Although Vinnie plays well , I still much prefer Paul Chapmans solo, which is absolutely spot on and technically very good. I was always surprised that Chapman was not recognised more as a guitar player. Obviously Schenker and UFO are ultimately the best together, and their music suffers when they are apart, neither being as good without the other. Time to do another CD with Schenker I think !!
@emrekara403210 жыл бұрын
I do not agree with you guys! Everybody says same thing " Moore's guitar is not like Schenker and he is better than Moore" I dont agree, cause i prefer this ver. Moore plays with his emotions. I really like this version

Vinnie just sounds too flashy for this solo, no need for the harmonic at the start, and he seems to flood parts of the solo. Like the Reverend Willy G says.....less is sometimes more!
@JktSd0r9 жыл бұрын
I like some of Moore's guitar work in UFO, but he butchers this solo. No one is going to top Tonka's o.g. solo, but I expected a lot better from a player the caliber of Vinnie Moore...
@robertrohde45795 жыл бұрын
Too bad it wasn't Gary Moore playing with UFO!
@james64ok15 жыл бұрын
Moore's solo totally ruins this! Why is he playing it like that? He's better than that, surely. A 'Mariah Carey' of a guitar solo if you don't mind me saying so. I hate that twiddly-twaddly style of playing, you know, that exemplified by Yngwie Malmsteen et al. Listen to Chapman's original solo if you want to know what great soulful guitar playing is all about, a solo that actually embraces and elevates a song rather than simply using it as a platform for some showy technique.
