Quite a business venture. Probably a smart idea promoting local tourism it's win/win for everyone there. Just don't forget that as a business they are prone to the same downfalls as other businesses. I would be cautious about putting them on a pedestal.

Emersson Escalera Galindo It's really hard to adapt it honestly since it's a visual novel and translating one media to another is always a challenge, considering they're also trying to make it as standalone instead of just Fate/Zero's sequel. You might assume that everyone watched Fate/Zero or read the visual novel, but nope, that's not how the world works. Honestly, I'm glad it existed, because with this I can finally forget that fucking movie from Deen.

I think what characterized Ufotable is the care they put into details. Every frame of their animations works looks good. Pause it at any moment, and you'll still have something that looks nice. I can't remember ever seeing a character they've animated going off model. Also, I can confirm that food and drinks at Ufotable Cafe are amazing. I've never had something there I didn't like. Here's hoping they get to do the Hollow Ataraxia anime someday.

i mean going off model isn't a bad thing sometimes its even necessary to add to an show's atmosphere for example konosuba s2 the only reason ufotable doesn't do it is that most of their shows would lose the seriousness they have

And about a third of it is poorly written and too exposition heavy, which is fucking terrible for an anime. If I wanted all that exposition, I'd read an actual novel (and no not a fucking visual novel or even a light novel, but an actual 300+ page novel with symbolism and prose that isn't long-winded or pretentious).

Dammit Canipa, you beat me to it. It's so annoying to see the Unlimited Budget Works meme, and now people can realise it has no factual basis. I'd say they have very similar, if not identical budgets as Madhouse, Bones, or Kyoto Animation.
@Veldin461
@Veldin461 8 жыл бұрын
I don't see why it is so annoying. It's just a joke, we say it because it's funny, because it actually sounds good, because the production quality is amazing, because it actually seems like the budget for these ufotable shows is unlimited even if it's not actually the case Therefore: Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Budget Works

the problem is that it misinforms people, and implying that high quality animation = more money is kind of an insult to the skill of the animators.

It's not even that funny, though. There's so many better jokes than that. As Patrick said, it's gotten way past the point where anyone thinks it's remotely funny and the only perpetuation of it that exists now is the people that actually thought it had some semblance of actual fact.

I just recently discovered your channel, and I must admit that I'm honestly baffled by the amount of information that you manage to squeeze into a single video, while also maintaining proper pacing throughout the whole thing. It's evident that there's a great deal of research going into producing your content - a factor which makes these videos just so much more entertaining (and worthwhile) to watch. It truly is breath of fresh air amongst the god-knows-how-many review channels which primarily focus on solely spouting their opinions, with little to no added value. I'm really eager to see which topics you decide to cover in the future. But honestly I doubt that it truly matters; since it's very apparent that you have the ability to turn just about anything into an interesting topic as long as you carry a genuine enthusiasm towards it.

I really enjoyed watching this video and found it pretty informative, despite personally not being a huge fan of the Ufotable aesthetic. Aside from Ufotable, I think the only other studio with a similar organization and that makes most of their work in-house is Kyoto Animation, so I think a spotlight on them similar to this could be very interesting.

i just saw this on the anime subreddit. if theres one thing i kind of wished you went over in this video, is that ufotable is very good at non-action sequences. For example, in the fate stay night series, everyone probably talks about how good it looks, but ignore what most of that franchise is about. People talk for around half an episode before the fight scenes kick in. What ufotable does best, is add in camera work to conversation scenes/monologues/etc. Alot of fate stay night is people standing still and their lips moving.
@robzsarmy5471
@robzsarmy5471 8 жыл бұрын
Ufotable is bad at handling monologues they make it boring. Should learn from Shaft how to handle a monologue if Im honest. Ufotable makes long monologue scenes very static as you said they are just lips moving hell even DEEN did a better job at handling the directing of the monologue because there is a lot of body movement.
@sequel4
@sequel4 8 жыл бұрын
Robz Sarmy my bad i think that was a bad example. but i meant that ufotable takes advantage of alot of still frames and using camera work and cgi to make it more extravagent than it actually is. ufotable does do a bit of body movement, i cant compare to deens's work. and the only show that i watch from shaft is the monogatari series, which is kind of unfair to compare against in the first place since its a very character driven show that lives and dies on its dialogue
@robzsarmy5471

Ah I see...but Im afraid I would stick to my word. As much as I like the Fate series and overall did a decent job on Stay Night despite many problems I have with its directing. I still stick to my word that Ufotable cant monologue for shit most of the times. It would be interesting how Shaft handles the new Fate series which is coming out

More or more it seems to me that a well-oiled and united team can make so much more out of the same resources than a slipshod production. It may seem puzzling because it seems that throwing money at it to make things better seems simple enough, but I think ufotable's work and other studios like them speak for themselves. It's also really encouraging for the young artist too, especially if they have their own group that works well together, that they can accomplish great things with their few numbers. I guess all that "nakama" stuff had some value after all.

Jay Girgis You might have to go old school for that kind of clarity. Modern anime doesn't do that anymore. You will NEVER find it, it's all blurred up fast mashed up action. So, you really are asking for way, way too much.
