Kirby is happy. Kirby is home. Kirby's wife and kids are happy in Athens. They just bought Vince Dooley's home!! Kirby will coach at Georgia until he's ready to stop coaching. Period.

Yep. He was hired as a grad assistant at FSU. His first job in D1.

Kirby first job was at Georgia in 1999 as Admin Assistant, then Valdosta State for a couple years, then FSU for 2 seasons then LSU for 1 year then back to Georgia for 1 season, then Miami Dolphins, then Bama and then back to Georgia.

@@timdrury9040 Ok I give you that but he was an Admin assistant only. No on field duties. His first D1 coaching gig was FSU- As a Grad Assistant learning the ropes under Bowden. He even gives Bowden credit for that.

Anyways it’s usually the Alabama fans who try to get FULL credit for everything Kirby which Kirby obviously learned a bunch from Saban but there have been many others throughout the years including his own father Sonny Smart who played college football for the Samford Bulldogs and coached high school football for in Georgia for 23 years.

I believe that Kirby has found the golden ring right here at home. He’s a brilliant man with football but observant enough to have seen in the past other brilliant football minds, Spurrier, Saban have allowed their egos and ambitions to take them to the next level. How did that work? Some guys are made to coach at the next level and some aren’t. Kirby’s personality and ability to connect and coach these young men is his gift from God. UGA is where he belongs. I truly believe he has not one shred of aspirations for coaching in the No Fun League. He is home. Go Dawgs
