Meanwhile in Denmark/Scandinavia/USA.... In Denmark AO sold the rights to this years AO to Eurosport and Discovery+ and these channels are not available from the largest providers in their TV packages. I have largest tv package from largest provider in Denmark and have access to around 70 channels hereunder around 10-15 sports oriented and not one of them shows ANY AO matches. Like nearly all Danes I refuse to pay per view or for a tournament. After Eurosport/Discovery had bought the rights for AO, at new record price, they demanded new record price from the channel providers to stay in their packages. They wisely declined and now Eurosport/Discovery+ and eventually AO realise they have peed in their pants. You know, a short warmth followed by a long unpleasant experience. They got/paid a record sum of money but wont get return of their investment. SO basically nearly no Danes (or Swedes/Norwegians) are able to follow Rune (or Ruud when he still were in the tournament) when these fine players have their breakthroughs. Really sad! I can read online that many in USA experience same types of issues with ESPN that also bought the rights. They show the uninteresting matches (for most) on ESPN but provide the matches most look forward to see on ESPN+ that few have access to and just as here they want people to pay extra for access despite having the rights and ability to show them for all. The tournament makes it self irrelevant over time to the broad public and thus also increasingly irrelevant commercially for sponsors. The ones really earning money on these bad decisions are the ones selling high quality VPN´s. Be wiser next year AO! A simple clause of percentage of availability to the broad audience after package negotiations or contract invalid, will do the trick. This clip have been online for a day and as I write this have 47k views despite (obvious) keen interest to follow Holger Rune in Denmark. This should tell AO they already this year, first year AO not available in the largest packages, have been mentally discarded from peoples conscious. I bet it would be several 100k´s higher with Danes alone had it been shown on TV. A lot of Americans have not even understood Holger Rune are the sensation of AO because they have never had opportunity to enjoy his fabulous tennis playing. I repeat...You are making your own tournament irrelevant for the broad public thus killing tennis as a TV spectator sport. You have the right to hold AO as a Grand slam tournament to at least 2046 as far as I understand it. Are you sure you are serving your own long term interest with current "lets just get the very highest money amount in our pockets today without caring for tomorrow" strategy?
