The wholesale market used to be by the other side of the Bullring open market before they were moved to the current location. The sellers initially protested because of the cost of transporting their products from Perry Barr to the market. It used to be bubbling in those days before the establishment of most of the African stores in Birmingham now. Not all their stuffs are cost effective though, some are cheaper at the open market at night. Meat section is the best part of the wholesale in comparison with the bullring market.

The market is so big and good idea to buy in bulk and share with your friend. Please send me some peppers. They don't sell periwinkles in such places but you may find sea snails. Nice vlog dear.

It's very cheap when you buy from this big markets. The day I went to the one in Manchester too Smithfield, I was wowed. 1kg of pepper that they wanted to sell for 14pounds in Africa store. I bought a whole big box for 20pounds. Once you are mobile, just carry yourself to the nearest one!!! You will be very happy buying things as foods aren't expensive!!!

How much did you get the Okro? I didn’t hear the price and I am very interested in the price cos sometimes Okro can be really expensive. I do not think EVERY SINGLE THING is cheap. I think the plantain, spinach and bell peppers are not really good value for money… even the onions cos I buy that same bag of onions for about £2 at the African shop here but the MEAT (especially the chicken), YAMS, PEPPERSSSS!!! And Guava (gova 😂) are really really cheap . Is there a reason why they open and close that early? Is it because they expect traders to come shop before opening their own shops? . Lastly, my ears are itching to hear what happened at home but I am glad it wasn’t a disaster. Thank God

The market isn't as good as it was when it was not too far from the Bullring. Even the indoor market had gone down by 70 percent. I use to go as a child with my mother and it was teaming with people buying you use to get some real good deals but from about 12 years ago its gone down hill big time. I can see it closing.
