just got the Huey yesterday and blowing through these vids to learn my shit. You weren't kidding in the controls video, this chopper is trying to kill me at all times lol

How does that COMM TEST button (mentioned at the end) work? I'm trying Huey in 2023 and whatever I do, I hear nothing when I press the button. I have tried variuos intercom positions - I see you have 1 selected there, but that supposed to be FM, at least based on the tooltip, I tried that and 3 as well. Nothing. Squelch on/off (does it even relate to VHF?), still no test noise. Tried various VHF on/off positions (with mouse, there are actually 4 positions?! kinda bug, I guess), volume, etc. Nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Great great video! I got a problem doin gthis though with IRtracker. Using numeric 1 or 2 doesn't change anything. What can I do please?

Hey Grimm. Just getting this awesome bird. I am having a issue though with a hot mic when using SRS. Do you or anyone here know how to fix it. When switching to UHF Radio to two on the dial below the radio it instantly hot mics the freq in SRS.

@@grimreapers Thanks Grim no problem. I did however get it sorted. So Maybe for some one else having this issue with the Huey or another aircraft and using SRS the solution is to make sure Allow in cockpit DCS Controlled PTT is "OFF" in SRS settings. Love the videos dude im thinking about joining.

I've tried this procedure dozens of times and can never get any response from ATC tower... I select the map, click the airport name tag, get the VHF and UHF frequencies, switch on radios, turn volumes up, use the squelch test button for VHF, TR/RX, input the frequencies... select position two (UHF) or three (VHF) on the radio selector rotary switch, select F5 for ATC and select from menu for the radio action... (Start up, taxi to runway etc.) and… nothing, no response? I have used the ADF location finder... that seems to work. but not the VHF/UHF radios! Oh, and Main generator, AC phase and DC voltage (25v plus) all reading good (so I have electrical power). Any ideas?

If I had to guess, it is because you are using the wrong communication bind. Use / or the pilot radio trigger to get ahold of atc.

huey is the better module. Gazelle can blow up more stuff

Thanks, I’m just happy to lift and land. So Huey seems like a good choice. Also I do like to support the “best” modules, because they deserve it. The F14 seems amazing.

I bought the Gazelle first but found it impossible to fly, everything happens so fast, so I bought the Huey which is a lot easier, after I got the hang of that I started again with the Gazelle.

PLEASE, on your next video can you slow down a bit. Trust me, your videos are much appreciated but I think sometimes it's forgotten that we are trying to learn as we go. You mention you get to the armament screen like this (at 2:40) but I still don't know how you did it.

I press my cyclic radio and menu button (my main double action trigger on a Warthog Hotas) and the menu select dropdown options appears, selecr 'rearm and fuel' then the armaments page will appear ^
