Fami said she's never had more distortion in her sound than on this tune. LB said the album recording was done before the audition process finished, except the bass, they asked Fami to add her bass parts within 2-3 weeks time. Label Victor pointed out this is the 1st MV where they never appear in their whites (obviously not counting "Bravehearted" with Fami). Album went No. 1 i tunes Japan metal, rock categories, no. 2 overall. Also no. 1 i tunes metal in US, UK, Canada, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, Sweden. In an interview they each named the song they liked the most or were the most proud of on the album: Asami - "Dissonance" Miyako - "Soldier Stands Solitarily" Midori - "We are the Resurrection" Haruna - "Judgement Day" Fami - " Wicked Witch"

Your intense reactions make me happy. Please continue to support LOVEBITES. 【From an interview with Asami and Fami for a magazine project】 Asami wanted to use the sound of "river" in the lyrics, but thought it would be strange to use "river" as the chorus. Asami found "deliver" and thought it would be cool if everyone shouted it out instead of just telling what the word means. For many Japanese, pronouncing and hearing the English "r" and "l" is difficult. From there, Asami arrived at "stand and deliver. "Stand and deliver" is a pirate term that apparently means "Leave all your money!" Asami thought that if he wrote the lyrics as they were, it would be a song about a "pirate king. Asami wanted to avoid that. Asami learned that "deliver" can also mean "to carry out" or "to be free" in addition to "to deliver. Asami uses "Stand and deliver" with the following interpretation and meaning. Stand up and be free! Rise up and be free! Arise and be free! Let's get up and be free! From there, Asami put the following thoughts into the lyrics. Nothing satisfies me. It's boring to be like this every day! Let's go more bouncy! Let's be bold and do something different! Let's break out of our shell! P.S. The mic stand setting that Miyako used was too high for Asami.

I believe "stand and deliver" was a term used by highway men (robbers). 😊
@fab1901

@@marks5451 It is impossible to know which English-Japanese dictionary or other reference Asami used, since it is not mentioned. I found the following on the Internet. "Adam & The Ants - Stand And Deliver(Video)" kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aqhilJmdm92xYp8.html The costumes in this video were very similar to Johnny Depp's costumes. Whether Johnny Depp used it as a reference or not I do not know. Since "Highwaymen" was in the 1960s and "Adam & The Ants - Stand" was in the 1980s, it is not clear to me whether Adam & The Ants - Stand was influenced by and produced the song and video. In any case, I would say that it is sometimes used to mean "Leave all your money!"
@marks5451
@marks5451 Жыл бұрын
@@fab1901 I'm old enough to remember Adam & the Ants and his costume was more hussar rather than pirate. But he did use eye liner so I can see the J. Depp connection lol. The Highwaymen referred to robbers and thieves that preyed on carriages and travellers on roads back in 17th or 18th century. The most well known is probably Dick Turpin. I believe "stand and deliver" was what the highwaymen would demand of their victims meaning make the horses stand (ie stop) and deliver meaning hand over your valuables.

Music by Miyako; Lyrics by Asami; Arrangement by Miyako. Miyako always does her own arrangements, Moa does the arrangements for the other members. Midori had mentioned she was going to work on using the Whammy Bar. Great song, it's Lovebites but not copy/paste. The change is the bass is more prominent now. The new bassist is Fami, She has her own YT channel. SO think about reacting to 1 of her videos. "Alien Alien" is the 1 most are reacting to, BUT just be different do the live on stage version.

And I loved Miho while she was there. I believe the new sound is ALL due to Fami. But I know who I will be listening to if I have to take a LONG drive! Mr. R&R, thanks for your reactions; you are always entertaining! And what's with the "Going out the Door" gag? LOL. Regardless, keep the reactions coming. Note: you can find the entire "Judgment Day" album on Spotify... Members: Drummer and Founding member, Haruna; Guitarists: Midori (bodybuilder) and Miyako (serious one); Bassist: Fami (the Kid, only 20 years old); and last but definitely NOT least is Lead Vocals: Asami.

Actually, the album was recorded before Fami joined. Miyako wrote and layed down the initial scratch bass tracks and Fami came in and re-recorded them. Fami didn't have much to do with the sound on this one but I'm sure she will on the next album.

I have never checked her writing credits on the previous albums and haven't followed Lovebites enough to know for sure, but I did put the full credits list for the new album on a discography website yesterday and she only has 3 writing credits on the whole album. Wicked Witch, Lost In The Garden and Soldier Stands Solitarily. I have a feeling a lot of their stuff is written by ex-Light Bringer keyboard player Mao. I have seen enough people say that though, so it might be that she wrote more on previous albums. Lovebites fans can correct me obviously, but I read the credits out of the booklet and Asami has more writing (Music By) credits on the new album than Miyako has.
@dino.mozardien

@@MaartenT correct, Miyako wrote most of the songs combined with previous albums. For this album she wrote 20 songs, only 4 selected (one with Asami), one rejected. There's enough materials for the next releases

No member of Lovebites, or Mao, has (co)written "most"-if "most" means "more than half"-of LB's songs. Miyako and Mao have (co)written a nearly equal number of LB's songs, but few of Miyako's songs are cowritten, while most of Mao's songs are cowritten, usually with Miho or Asami. (I'm referring to the music, not the lyrics.) It's common for a cowriter to build harmonically on the melody by the other writer, and Miyako can write harmony herself. Miho and Asami have regularly cowritten with Mao, and his function in those cases has been to fill out their songs harmonically, such as the chord changes.

@@MaartenT Btw what do you think of their latest album, if I may ask? I always respect your perspective.
@MaartenT
@MaartenT Жыл бұрын
@@cepho8349 I just relistened to the album going to work and back because I only properly listened to it once before. I am clearly still not 100% sold on Power Metal in general, so take it from that perspective. There are a couple of tracks on here that I love (Judgement Day and Dissonance, I have always loved more agressive sounding Thrash/Speed Metal). I also really like "Stand And Deliver (Shoot 'em Down)" as I have always liked a gritty sound like that. I have plenty of bands where I actually prefer versions of their tracks on their demo's over their first album because they sound a bit more gritty. Some of the other more Power Metal tracks I enjoy, others a little less. Parts of "My Orion" remind me of Journey's "Seperate Way" for some reason (it might have a similar cord progression), which is not really my thing. It's probably my least favourite track on the album. There is also a (to my ear cheesy sounding) keyboardpart in "Wicked Witch" which I am not a fan of, although I am ok with the track in general. So overall I am still not a huge fan of a lot of the melodic chorusses, they sometimes remind me of Disney cartoons for some reason (I'm not really sure why, I have that problem with a lot of Power Metal). Asami's vocals also have way more compression on them than I remember from their older albums, they still sound good but they seem more produced (not in a bad way), but it's possible that I don't listen to them enough to properly recall. I also would have loved the bass to be turned up a little more onf some tracks, but I am not sure how well that fit with Power Metal. All the solosections are great though, they tend to let up on most melody and just show off their musicianship and I absolutely love that. Some parts of some songs actually do remind me of Symphony X a bit. They sound a bit more symphonic than what I can remember of their other tracks (with a couple of exceptions like Swan Song). I don't like everything I have heard of Symphony X, but I do love their 2 epic tracks "The Divine Wings Of Tragedy" and "The Odyssey" (I actually own both albums) so I don't mind the symphonic touches. I have noticed that I can personally do without most of the keyboardmelodies and that the tracks that Mao composed without any of the members are my least favourite of the bunch. But I already knew I didn't like the couple of Light Bringer tracks I have heard before, so his composition might not be for me. I personally wish he was more hands-off, some of the tracks remind me of what I have heard of Light Bringer and my guess is that I would love Lovebites more if Mao's DNA wasn't all over them with him co-arranging and programming everything, but who knows. So all in all it is more-or-less what I expected, but I'm happy I pre-ordered it. I probably prefer "Electric Pentagram" at the moment, but those songs had time to grow on me and I'm sure I will get used to the majority of these as well. I am really curious to see them play Judgement Day and Dissonance live though and how well Fami can fit into their sound on next EP's albums that are written with her in mind. Edit: Well, that turned out way longer than I expected. I hope I don't come over as overly critical, I will certainly give the album more listens in the future, but the more "standard" Power Metal tracks are still not really my style of music. But it's way better than it was in the beginning when I couldn't get through some of their songs, so me trying to get used to Power Metal certainly helped.

Mr. RnR, I've been watching your reactions and I like your reaction a lot. I don't want to have a trouble with you but I must tell you this. This is something half of UTube reactors do on Lovebites reaction. Keep referring to other bands. I don't mind if it is a serious comparison and discussion over influences and how Lovebites developed themselves with influences from other bands. I don't like just saying "sounds like that and that" treating them like a patchwork of older bands. I believe you recognize their originality as Lovebites too. But in this reaction, there is a problem. I know you don't mean it, but you sounded like to me that Lovebites stole a riff from Band Maid. That is a serious problem and a disgrace. If you really think Lovebites stole it from Band Maid, just bring it in here and let's talk about it. Don't you think Lovebites deserves already to be treated as an independent band?

I say this as a Band-Maid fan, but I agree with you. My immediate reaction was "No, it doesn't sound at all like Thrill, not even close". I like Thrill, but it's a pretty simple hard rock track and this is a full-on heavy metal/thrash metal track with power metal parts. That it can touch it or not depends on taste and everyone should decide that for themselves, but whatever the preference, they don't sound even close to similar. I personally prefer this one as well.

I meant the very beggining of thrill. I hear a similar riff. The whole song is not what I meant my bois

@@herbpoints I completely agree, I didn't mean to say that he couldn't. I just didn't agree with what he said and that's ok. It sparks conversation and that's only good for the channel (more comments) as long as you can have that conversation in a respectable way. I can somewhat see the beginning riff of Thrill, but it's still not where my mind went. I hear mainly Motörhead. I personally wish all reactors would tell people how they feel, there are plenty of them that are just catering to their audience.
