@kalevstheworld
@kalevstheworld 26 күн бұрын
@coyoterx6002 There was no skill level requirement or anything. You didn't even have to be competent to get on, really. We were just selected because we said we liked/played video games and were camera friendly, I guess. We had absolutely 0 heads up on what kind of games we would play. This one kid was really good at games in general and won it all; the other kid only played sports games or something, I think? He was awful at all the ones we played. I played mostly Nintendo stuff and wasn't that great at racing games (our first game was a racer). I got a radio and some N64 games from being on it though, that was cool!

I'm 30 and I gotta say... YTV got me through some rough times as a kid. I heard Sugar's real voice in some random interview once after she left YTV and my sister said, "See! I told you that's not her real voice!" Carlos has appeared in different places since The Zone. I used to watch The Vortex on Saturday mornings while eating a bowl of cereal. Uh Oh! was that one show I wanted to go on but I always hated the punisher because the mask made me feel uneasy and I hated that he threw the kids in the pool. So that blew my chances of ever going on the show 😂 I knew a girl that went there once. She was on a green team. Man...what wild times. Wish I could go back sometimes. Today's shows just can't compare.

What a blast from the past. Ran from ‘97 to ‘03. From when I was age 6 to 12. The late 90’s era was something else, man. The last generation of childhoods to grow up like everyone did before technology kept kids inside playing video games and rotting their brain on TikTok. Yes, video games existed back then too, but most kids still played outside most of the time. Back when you wanted to find your friends, so you’d ride your bike around the neighbourhood until you saw whose house had a bunch of bikes on the lawn. Simpler times. Better times.

Much Music would be better for a docuseries with all it's different eras and facets. Pre-Vampire Diaries Much was a wild channel. (Especially when Weird Al took over. Man, those were the days!) Ed the Sock was definitely the wildest part of that channel. I can't find the clip anywhere, but there was one amazing moment during his block where someone behind-the-scenes tried sneaking in a Backstreet Boys video. The music video played for a couple seconds before stopping abruptly and cutting to an angrier-than-usual Ed ranting and telling someone off, firmly establishing that BSB were NOT allowed on his show. It was so good. I liked Ed less when he got his own show that was very Man Show style. I liked him better as a surly VJ, not mackin' on chicks in hot tubs. Did anyone else ever feel like the insult dog was a crappy Ed wannabe? That "poop on" bit wasn't even funny. Maybe the first time, but it got old fast

You may have lost some people by saying Canadian TV & mentioning YTV, but you gained a subscriber just from that. I've always wanted to produce a show that was a combination of Uh Oh! & Video & Arcade Top 10. Events like carry the games (inspired by my blockbuster days) or beat a certain boss in a specific game to proceed. I know I'll probably never get around to doing it, but it's fun to imagine what it could look like.

As a 30 year old Canadian, this show, even the commercials, gave me super-nostalgia. Still waiting for my damn house hippo though! 😂

In the last while I've thought about that show Uh Oh! , it truly was the embodiment of YTV. Seeing the end credits of Digimon at 2:35 - whew! Still remember when I got cable and could watch Adventure 02 and being so confused. Wasn't sure if that was Sugar's real voice either. Good work, had some laughs.

That was a trip down nostalgia lane. If any Canadians have Eastlink community TV (channel 10 in BC) the commercials are nothing but these same 90s PSAs and Canadian heritage moments.

I used to watch this every morning before school! (Or maybe it was every afternoon after school!) Just in the past year I was thinking about this show, and finally looked it up only to find out that it's partially lost media! Such a shame! In any case, it's cool to see someone make a KZfaq video about it!

This brought back sooooo many memories! I also loved the music countdown on Friday nights. There was another show on ytv that I loved but can never find any info mit was aired in the weekdays and had some monster type theme chata4cters and some arts and crafts. A woman hosted it I believe. It was all over the place but I loved it. Any idea what it could be

Loved watching it when I was even younger and it was still on in the house when I got older when my little sister was watching her shows lol
