Uh Oh! Tiguan 2.0TSI is ticking! But it's only the A/C compressor!

6 жыл бұрынMy 2.0TSI in my 2012 Tiguan started making noise this morning. It has 138.8K miles. Updated chain tensioner and Unitronic tune.

was it your compressor or was it the tensioner ?

A/C compressor.

So my car made a weird squeak sound and then this sound you have. AC ?

In my case, yes, the AC compressor had failed. Remove the belt then start the engine to pinpoint the source.

Is that with the AC on or off ? Or didn't matter

@@enhanceduk4642 there is no traditional clutch, the compressor turns all the time so it didn't matter, AC on or off.

@@sbcncsu I am praying this is the same issue with me. When it happened I heard a belt squeak then the car cut off tried to turn it over and it was like flat battery. Then it started with this noise and gets louder when you drive it

Check channel 93 of live Data, more than 3.7 degrees is bad news

Alex Palma It is 4.28 degrees at warm idle. It is going in to Apex Tuning for repair tomorrow.

Luckily, it was the A/C compressor that had failed. Still an expensive failure! I replaced the tensioner a couple of years back and posted a video on how it works and why it fails.
