When I hear the pipes I find myself thinking of a great enthusiast of there playing, Eamonn Ceannt who died in Kilmainham Goal in 1916. I think that it was a great shame that he did not hear the pipes as he was led to his execution.

I didn't know they did chords. That's a very difficult situation. I just love the sound of that sole bendy thing. Is it Scottish or Irish?

Hey y'all much money does the uillean pipes cost

It depends on which maker you buy the pipes from, and what type of set: practice set, half set, 3/4 set, or full set. You can usually find a good practice set around $1,200. If you go up to a full set, you may be looking at $8,000-$10,000. It is a very complex and labor-intensive instrument to produce.

Look, this was a great little documentary introducing the pipes; and don't get me wrong, obviously its fantastic young people are taking them up; but is there a reason as to why EVERY young player/pupil here is a girl?? As if young lads arn't playing them! Sorry to generalize, but I just think this is yet another example of how there is such an over-emphasis on girls, and young women participating in activities traditionally associated with men, such as sport, careers, education etc. Now piping. Just feel the young lads are getting deliberately left behind in many things now........

I don't see a problem here, could just be girls in that class at that time, and that stuff really started a few years later than this was made
