Woolly mammoth bones were discovered on a farm in Southeast Iowa, and the University of Iowa Museum of Natural History is assisting with their restoration. Students participate in the excavation on-site and help with the cleaning and restoration at the lab. This opportunity gives students hands-on experience while uncovering history and learning more about the state during the Ice Age.
