Hello Jeppe, Thank you :D It does consume, more than typical DU Activities since we have the digitization and the extraction at the same time. Do you know anything about if UiPath will have a dedicated licensing model for these new activities?

@@redamarzouk My guess is that they’ll stick with something consumption based (per prompt or similar). I just hope they don’t introduce yet another Unit Type (Robot Units, AI Units, App Units) and maybe even merge all of these into some universal unit type that could be used across the entire platform. That would enable us devs to build waaay cooler, more feature-rich solutions for clients, and reduce the risk of especially small clients getting stuck with Units that reach the expiration date.

@@WhosShamouz Oh I see what you mean. Document Understanding follows a licensing model of AI units. so the answer is no. if you buy an unattended license that only includes running robots on a resource but does not include AI Units. To buy DU capabilities you will have to purchase Document Understanding Page Bundles (they include digitization, Computer vision, classification and extraction) hope that answers the question.

Thanks a lot Reda for your content. Do these activities work with other file formats like jpeg and word? What about the support of Other languages like French and Arabic?

You're welcome. It works on images but not word and excel etc, only pdf and images. It does support French and Arabic, they have just added them last month but I haven't tried them yet. Is you do let us know if it works on your side.

Thanks a lot Reda, Yes after your comment I actually tried the French Language and It worked perfectly well. I only maintained the Generative Prompts in French and it extracted data from a PDF Document in French Language. The Arabic I don't think it's supported through UiPath. I think I might need to use Google or Microsoft OCR for that one. Do you have any experience with those or is the Arabic supported through UiPath OCR?@@redamarzouk

It appears that UiPath has made the Prompt fields static. I tried passing variable into the Key and Value field. I'm using v 2.4.1 of the UiPath.DocumentUnderstanding.Activities.

I am working in Singapore as laundry valet attendant in hotel . In my hotel every day we submit training attendance by 11am .will you do for me this project in uipath these are the requirements. 1.read the employee name and employee id in the excel sheet based on which date we working on duty . 2. As well read the training topic from excel based the date because every day training topic will change . 3.training attendance created in Microsoft form there is field date ,name,id,department,training topic ,trainer name ,only name and id training topic and trainer needs to type manually rest of them just choose from the Microsoft form in drop down list . 4.training topic in excel format based on date. I attached training plan for your reference I like to automate these scenarios every day who are all on duty only using Microsoft form . I like to learn from you to kick start my career as RPA developer

Hello, the problem is that Document understanding has to be activated as a service in UiPath Cloud in the admin settings. one of the community members already had this problem and another member has shared on how to solve it. you can join the community from here. discord.gg/jUe948xsv4
