Hello Anders, i wanna tell u a little story of mine. I wanted to do RPA course however i searched in youtube and scared that this uipath is difficult and left learning hope there only. It might seem advanced, but the guides are step by step, so just follow along and it will come to you. Today, we are all talking about sustainable work by employees, but we will talk more about sustainable work by robots in the future and these videos will be tremendously important when that day comes. Hi Anders, first of all let me thank you for your tremendous effort to produce all these tutorials. Great work! I have a question regarding the position of an input dialogue window. Is there a possibility to move these windows. Normally they show up in the middle of the screen. But can I position the window for exemple in the upper left corner of the screen? Best regards Hans

Hey Hans Thank you very much - very nice, you wrote! 🙂 We can re-position a window, but not a dialog window. What you could do is to implement a custom form (e.g. html/vba). I havn't tried it myself, but did it with Microsoft Forms (browser based). If you wish to give it a go and run into problems, let me know. Kind regards, Anders

One question: When a Project is created we have to specify the language (VB, or C#); nevertheless, the scriptings activities available are either VBScript, to JScript - If you can please let us know (1) what is the effect of this initial language choice - Would it affect just the Advance Editor expression syntax? (2) Can you use framework objects inside a Javascript activity, like JQuery,...?- Thank You one more time!

It has no effect on anything except the way you write the VB/C#. @@andersjensenorg Question- Thanks for the reply, a solution for below kind of exercise, if possible : create a UiPath automation that performs the steps below. To achieve this, you will use the REFrameWork as the starting template and follow the UiPath development best practices. Make sure you use a connection to an UiPath Orchestrator for testing. Here are the steps performed by the Robot in the Dispatcher: 1. Log in to www.acme-test.com. 2. On the landing page, Dashboard, go to the Invoices menu item and then click on Search for Invoice. Click on Display All Invoices. 3. Scrape the data , Add a queue item containing the Invoice Number Here are the steps performed by the Robot in the Performer: 1. Log in to www.acme-test.com. 3. For each Queue Item: - Click or hover over the Invoices menu item and then click on Search for Invoice; - Type the Invoice Number retrieved from the queue item into the Invoice Number field; - Click on Search; - Extract the values for the Total and Date and compare them with the values from the queue item (check for EXACT match for all fields!); - If the values are not matching, this should be categorized as a Business Rule Exception, and the queue item should have the status set accordingly. - If the values match, the transaction is successful. Note: Navigation can be achieved in multiple ways by the robot - choose whichever you find best. Constraints to follow in the development, using the REFrameWork: 1. TransactionItem datatype should be a QueueItem. The process should recover and retry 2 times in case of errors in navigation between the Invoice Search and Invoices - Search Results pages. One transaction is the action of navigating to the Invoices Search page, searching for the Invoice Number and scraping the values from the resulting one row table. 2. Create a separate workflow file for the Login to ACME. File input arguments: URL ; Username ; Password . 3. Create a separate workflow file for closing ACME. 4. Add the ACME_URL and ACME_Credential to the Excel Config file. 5. Populate InitAllApplications.xaml from the Framework folder with Invoking the Login to ACME and navigation to the Work Items. 6. Populate CloseAllApplications.xaml from the Framework folder with Invoking the Close ACME. 7. Populate KillAllProcesses.xaml from the Framework folder with killing the process used. 8. Populate the Process.xaml file with the following actions: Navigation, Searching for Invoice Number, Scraping, Checking if the values match, Handling the Business Rule Exception.

Hey Siaka. First of all, thanks for the kind words!! When we wanna scale our setup of robots, we can use Orchestrator to schedule our robots as well as do logging and BI. Furthermore we can work with queues and assets + different machines/servers. Kind regards, Anders

Hi Anders, your videos are really helpful. I have scenario in data scraping. The Pagination is dynamic and appears depending upon number of records. If it is 1 page, the Pagination shows as 1; in case of 2 it shows as 2 with a link; so on so forth. I tried parametrize link / page number but selector is not working. How to work on this.

Hey Leal. If you want to run multiple processes you cannot do that, if two or more should work in the UI at the same time. See it as if more than one human should work on a computer, it would not work out either. What you can do is to setup virtual machines and run it as such. You can fine run UiPath and OpenRPA at the same time, again under the condition that they both do not work in the UI. OpenRPA is outstanding if you want to run multiple parallel processes. In my company we sat up an OpenRPA solution with 8 instances to run the process FAST. Have you seen this demo with Allan Zimmermann and OpenRPA, kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mZeZoLGdy8mdY3k.html Kind regards, Anders

Hey Laurent. UiPath is an RPA tool (can automate any Windows task a human can do except thinking), where Power Automate works with API integrations (automatically connect e.g. Office products). Any suggestions on how to change values of cells on grids in Windows Forms? I don't see anything online. Everything is about Excel. If i have a two columns, how do i copy one value from one cell column to the adjacent column next to it? The rows will vary. Some will have 1 row other 20+. Hey K Stevenson. I never used Windows Forms, but I assume it's .NET based. Can you use UI activitives? Then I would just: Get Text, Output it to a string in properties, then use a Type Into and type the string, where you want it. Let me know, if thats possible? Hi Anders, I have a question.... can we use OpenOffice Excel sheet for read and write data from Excel instead of Microsoft Office? I am using open Office excel sheet for reading the data from excel but I am getting the following error..." Excel Application Scope: Error opening workbook. Make sure Excel is installed."

Hey Bangalore. Search for a Read Range, but take the workbook instead of excel activities. You don't need the excel scope. Did that solve it? 🙂 kind regards, Anders

Hi Anders, While Converting single word file into pdf at that time getting the below error. Source : Export To PDF Message : Command failed Exception type : System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMExeception I have added uipath.word and uipath.pdf packages from manage packages. Still getting same error. Please Help
