Brazilian living in Dublin here. It's funny how is everything about point of view because the most dangerous place in Dublin is the garden of Eden comparing to almost every place in Sao Paulo where i grew up. I'm very grateful for Ireland, accomplished things I'd never imagined... Is sad to see so much potential in this country and govs ruining it so bad

The cameraman went looking for trouble and ended up with the most uneventful video ever shown on KZfaq. Overall the video gets 10 out of 10 for it's tranquilising effect and should be made available to those of a nervous disposition and/or suffering from anxiety attacks. What a lovely quiet and peaceful neighbourhood.

@@softgreenfilms Yes of course it's NOT all about the bad, I agree with you. Successive governments have ignored constantly the early warning signs that emit from communities in need. The consequences are plain to see and hear about, but there is the good side too and that's very important to show people as well. Keep doing your thing and enjoy it too. Well done 👏👏👏

Glad you enjoyed your walkabout 👍. Did you notice the complete absence of Garda presence? The Brookfield youth Center was closed recently because of the lack of council and government funding. There are really good people in the communities that you walked around. You walked passed the Fettercairn Horse project and community hub. It would have been great if you had went in and spoke to them. The people who live in the community are not the problem. The lack of funding and opportunities is the problem. A 10 minute bus trip down to sout/east Tallaght would show you the difference community funding can have. The lower part of Tallaght is abundantly funded but you would think it's a completely different suburb of Dublin. Stop and talk to the local people next time you visit 👍

I live just a little way away from there. Tallaght is a great place, but of course, like everywhere, there are risk spots. Main reasons are school absence, lack of education and resources but some great volunteers working very hard to change that.

Soft Green Films I can only compare your herosim to the renowned war journalist Jane Mathison, who donned in kevlar and armed with a mighty pen, transformed the face of conflict reporting. Her courageous storytelling from the world's most dangerous frontlines has rattled millions, echoing both the deafening clamor of war and the soft cries of those trapped within it. Braving gunfire and despotism, Mathison's fearlessness unveils glimpses into the very heart of human struggle, resilience, and hope. You and her are one and the same. God bless the work that you do.

The absolute cheek of you to walk through one of the area's of Tallaght and say that you were afraid for your life and that there were some really dodgy people around not to mention that every house had a house alarm?? But yet i saw a couple of children and young teens playing and chatting! I saw a lot of nice car's and vans outside people's houses which indicates to me that it's a hard working class area! You saw a horse box that might i add that there is a local stable that the youth go and look after the horses! The art work "Stephen" was in remembrance of a young boy who lost his life on that spot! You saw two boarded up house's a bit of graffiti and rubbish around so how dare you even post a video without knowing the facts! You get good and bad no matter where your from but you took the word of a drug addict, why didn't you stop and talk with the lads that were outside the house just at the end of your video?? And yes i am from Tallaght just a different part! What's it like from where you are from?

Nice video, it's good to see different parts of the country. If you are not familiar with the locality what about joining up with a local youtuber in the area you are visiting, I watched some of Kevin Coyle's videos and I think he said he is from that part of Tallaght. He did a video where he went to a public meeting there but when the People Before Profit TD saw him he turned around and drove away without even going in, so there was no meeting and the video ended up being very short!

The mural at 24:26 is for a 12 year old boy who was burned alive in 2001. A group of boys had built a makeshift den made out of wood on that spot. Two of the boys decided to sleep in the den overnight when a man who wasn't local but had family or friends on that street decided to burn it down because he was fed up with the antisocial behavior by those boys. Apparently he didn't realise the two boys were sleeping in it. One of the boys managed to escape but the other died. I believe the man got 15 years. Further down that street is the house where a 24 year old man stabbed his 18 year old sister and 8 year old twin brother and sister to death throwing the twins out of the top window possibly before they died from their stab wounds. That happened last year.

I grew up in Fettercairn me family moved out in 97....that place is nothing like it was in the 80s & 90s it was a dangerous place back then due to poverty lack of amenities & the Dr ugs, it wasnt as built up back then wed plenty of green space, but it was a really tough area to grow up in, but back then you were safe walking around your own estate & the rule was you never sh!t on your own doorstep no such thing as being armed when fighting they used their hands....the local men/fathers took turns in patrolling the streets when the h€roin€ started to become a huge problem, the locals knew if you were from Fettercairn, if they didn't recognise you they'd stop you ask you who you are & where you from if they didn't know ya they ran you out of the area they were clearing the estate of Dr ugs & pushers & addicts before the younger generation got caught up in it...I seen so many amazing friends & locals lose everything to it....but what I will say my best memories are growing up in Fettercairn I absolutely loved growing up there despite it being a no go area....

You need to apologise for this video, bud. Fettercairn is a nice area and your video pretty much proved it. All you done was insult how it looks. You said you were expecting more horses but didn't realise you were a 2 minute walk away from the Fettercairn stable and you turned back before you got to it. You said it seemed depressing despite small kids and laughter heard throughout. You weren't in any sort of danger even after sticking your camera over the wall to look at the traveller's tipped over bins.

It's important to make up your own mind when a place is disparaged! The London based media and the southern English , alway's verbally run down Liverpool , but i lived there for four year's and it's the best city i ever lived in! 😃🤔😏
