#12. I'm sorry but the children were "so scared" because of your decision to aggressively react and honk instead of easily resolving the situation. Sure it was your right of way and yes, the other driver didn't get in lane in time, but you could easily have just stepped off the gas and let them come in. It would have been a non event and your children wouldn't even have realised, let alone gotten scared.

They indicted, why blow your horn and close the gap down, stop being so aggressive. #12. Another driver being aggressive by closing the gap down. #7 I'm in broad agreement with you, but you don't have to be unfamiliar with that junction to get confused. Just about everybody has to change lanes somewhere there, and there's always somebody inclined to block anybody DARING to do it in front of them. I think it's where F1 wannabe drivers practice their 'first corner' strategies...
@josephprice5872
@josephprice5872 7 ай бұрын
I don't disagree with you on #7 but I also think more drivers should accept they've made a mistake and go the wrong direction, turn round legally and try the junction again? It's the principle of "least surprise". Just as the car changing lane shouldn't want to surprise others by changing lanes last second, the following car doesn't want to surprise those behind them by braking last second at a junction with a clear way ahead to let someone else in. Speed & distance can be really difficult to judge with dashcam footage. Maybe there was a much bigger gap & time than it looks.

@johnmalin1676 it did seem slow for the road but it's hard to tell, he could well have been doing exactly 30 on his speedo, which could read as 25 on another depending on calibration. But either way if someone passes safely its not up to us to judge their speed, and trying to punish them for it could cause an incident, exactly like this one. Just report it (if you like) and move on. I once had a guy jump out in front of me on a gravel road (60mph limit) because he thought I was driving too fast (35ish mph). He didn't seem to understand how broken that logic is - they're going too fast so I'll cause a dangerous situation, distract them and put myself in danger!

Clip #1: Dreadful driving by the cammer. The lorry got the wrong turning, was obviously too flustered to indicate, but it was obvious from a long way back that they were going to abort the turn. To continue up alongside them to make a "punishment pass" was just asking for trouble. Fortunately the lorry driver didn't just swing back into the cammer's lane, probably because after making their mistake, they did their observations before continuing. The cammer did everything they could to make the situation worse.

#12 I guess this video shows what happened BEFORE the pickup tried to force you off the road and "visually attack" you... Any chance of seeing that video? Hey, it's annoying when there's clear road behind you for them to drop in but they insist on getting one car further in front, but we can't see if that's the case in this clip.

Thrashes his 1.0 as fast as he can around roundabouts in 2nd and has Halfords airhorns because he's always getting people pulling out in front of him, presumably. I used to have a neighbour like that, very strange and angry woman. Any situation she could create (in a 1.0 Micra) she would. Someone backing on to their drive? Floor it then hand on horn. Someone not letting her out of hers? Hand on horn. Saw her out and about a few times, did roundabout manoeuvres like this chap and you guessed it, hand on horn.

nothing wrong with the roads in the uk, the drivers on them however just seem to be more entitles and aggressive than in my 55 years of driving, there is no thought no consideration for others, most just get into their little box on wheels and believe they have the right to do anything they want to without penalty

@@alanbennett2140 roads are in a very bad state. I was talking about drivers on the roads. It's very dangerous because there are to many idiots driving around. For example on the roundabouts idiots are changing lanes from inner circle out just before they exit and continuing driving on dual carriageway. You have to be stupid to do that.

The first driver really needs to think about their hazard perception. The lorry driver, probably not familiar with the area, mistook the turn they were supposed to take and that's the point the driver decides to speed up and put themselves in harm's way. 1:10 absolutely boils my blood. It's happened to me on a couple of occasions. I hope they caught the driver and he lost his licence. There's certain things where courts have to say, your livelihood is secondary to public safety. That last one...sorry, but that's what happens when you combine slow reactions with the first instinct being too press the horn.

That last one is why I'm extra cautious approaching certain junctions in my local area. It's not always a case of not looking, but I'm sure some people assume that just because you're approaching from one direction that means you're going to make a turn (simply because a majority of people make said turn), when you yourself have no intention of doing so and are therefore not even indicating to do so.

My husband’s car was damaged in a work car park. A car that had been “parked” without the handbrake being used rolled backwards into his car. The person who parked it failed to come forward,until they were actually seen getting out of the car by a coworker of his; despite a message being left on their windscreen asking them to speak to security and their car being wedged in place with traffic cones. (I don’t know about you but if my car was wedged put with traffic cones, I think I’d notice). The little genius then tried to claim that her car hadn’t actually hit my husband’s car and caused the (very obvious) damage. It had stopped by a miracle, on a hill, with no brakes, and was just nearby. Well, that went down like a cup of cold sick! Especially once we provided CCTV footage, witness statements, dashcam footage and a video taken by a security guard. Why even bother? It cost the stupid woman more because now, they have to pay us for a courtesy car for 2 weeks longer because she tried to say it wasn’t her. I hope she gets the increased insurance premiums she deserves. Cost us nothing!

Soon as I saw the caption and location at 3:41, I knew it'd be somebody doing a dodgy lane change. That junction is a classic example of "improving" a junction by making massively worse. For confusing all and sundry, requiring just about everybody to change lanes at some point, it really has no equal. Doing it all in the dark just adds to the fun....NOT!

The signage at that junction is crappy and misleading, though - most of the overhead lane signs are over bends, such that from a distance they seem to be over different lanes. When you're familiar with the layout it's easy, but not the first time.
