British-born Tauqir Sharif runs a humanitarian aid organisation in war-torn Syria. When the British government revokes his citizenship over alleged ties to al-Qaeda, he decides to appeal but is forced by circumstances to boycott his own trial. Soon after, his worst fears are realised when he is arrested by a powerful rebel group. With rare access to Idlib during a dangerous and unpredictable time in northern Syria, this film demonstrates the real-life consequences of citizenship revocation. Stateless in Syria is a documentary film by Horia El Hadad.

@@Forksake82 good points merely being in the IDF isn't a crime. Maybe you think the IDF is a terrorist organization but that is your opinion, not law. (The confusion of the OP between an accusation and conviction by a court of law, even a UN court, is salient.) Al Qaeda and ISIS are prohibited organizations in the UK. I think it's also noteworthy that countries are allowed to set criteria for entry, and these do not need to be fair or based on someone having been convicted of a crime. And anecdotally, I'd take an IDF soldier over an ISIS member as a neighbour any day.
