Her reputation undented by her recent divorce from Prince Charles the Princess took breakfast at the White House Tuesday with Hillary Rodham Clinton and a hundred and twenty guests. It was the first engagement of a day-long fashion-led charity-mission, culminating in Diana's attendance at a gala fund-raising dinner at the White House.

Diana, Princess of Wales and some of the biggest names in fashion turned out for a star-studded gala in Washington, D.C. which was expected to raise more than U-S 1 (m) million dollars for breast cancer research. The event offered party-goers the chance to buy more than U-S 1 (m) million dollars worth of designer clothing and accessories at slashed prices, while sipping champagne at the black-tie bash. More than one thousand, one hundred guests attended, including about 800 who paid U- S 500 dollars for dinner.
