I'm in the UK. I can hardly believe people think Labour will be better than the last useless lot - they'll just be worse in every way that the Conservatives were bad. You mentioned Covid. What happened was shockingly tyrannical but Labour would have been even worse, even more draconian. I just hope that this ultimately leads to some big changes in the entire system. Our present first-past-the-post electoral system cannot reflect the true votes of the electorate.

Move on live your life, be safe, protect your loved ones, grow personally, plan ahead, focus on your close circle, don't waste energy on those who have eyes but can not see, instead invest it on valuable people at your side and the ones full of potential and open eyes. It's too late for many, the ones remaining like us we should focus on build close shielded communities together and get off the grid system.

The UK is a medieval country, de facto, This country is still steeped into the middle ages, with Lords, Shires, and paesants. Horses as a class symbol, hereditary titles and positions of power within the state. If one does not live here for a few years one does not understand what this country really is, This country represents the last vestiges of the middle ages, feudalism here was never touched let alone being dismantled like it was mostly by Napoleon in Europe..

Britain is a country perpetually repenting from ushering in the modern era in spite of herself. The Labour Party is a mere emanation from the über-aristocratic Fabian society, their wet dream is to restore peasant serfdom and prohibit social ascension into a better class like quite a few Marxist republics did. It should be called the forced labour party.
@billyliar1614
@billyliar1614 19 күн бұрын
This is so very, very true. Britain really isn't a modern society. Sometimes you look around and it feels almost surreal, like you're not quite living in Modernity. The problem is, some of us are modern people and we reject all this medieval crap. You can walk into a pub and find yourself on the receiving end of dirty looks before you've even opened your mouth. The hatred which this engenders is hard to overstate and is at the root of many of our problems. A period of state intervention, wealth taxes and constitutional reform should go a long way towards helping the situation but really, we need absolute cultural change and for those class vested interest groups and the structures which support them to be given not just a kicking but to be comprehensively broken beyond any plausible prospect of recovery. A bit like Germany after WW2. Personally, I'm not convinced by Starmer but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt

6:31 I moved back to the UK in 1997, and then back to Norway in 2013. I haven't been home to visit since 2016 and sadly have no feeling to do so. My country has changed, and not for the better. I have voting rights and used that this time to vote for change. Reform got my vote, as neither of the the two main parties had earned my trust, and therefore my vote. Drastic change in the voting system is needed, and Reform have made that a goal for the future. The future under Labour is far from promising, but let's hope that the few Reform MPs can throw a few spanners in the works and prevent is becoming worse.

UK ...so this morning..a foregone conclusion. its Labour for the next 5 years, I voted Reform , not because im not tolerant of my fellow man..but for common sense and to break an electoral system that does not serve the people .. We have a chance here to implement change, and we now have a wolf among the sheep in Westminster! Farage will be snapping at their heels!

I do bushcraft and do a little knife making and axe modding. Its basically the apocalypse here under labour. The impending "machete ban" was potentially bad enough, but labour intends to ban pretty much anything with a blade over 8 inches. I have bowie knives that might end up becoming criminalised to merely own. I do things like make giant wood mallets with a bushcraft knife, but labour expect me to carve a section of tree with a Swiss Army knife. The UK will be wrecked under WEF Starmer. He has already declared that he wants to create a refugee pipeline for Gaza ffs.

My son is studying medicine in Australia and he is reporting a similar issue to what's happening in the UK, with poorer people being unable to afford to study on his program or unable to get in. He told me that, far from being 'equal opportunity', on his course about 80% of the students are either aflluent overseas students or the children of very rich families locally, mostly educated in very expensive independent schools and with at least one parent who is a consultant doctor. More to the point, accommodation and living expenses to live close to the main teaching hospitals and medical campuses are punitive. I have had to give him my small apartment and move in with my daughter back in England because otherwise my son couldn't have managed it logistically or financially; he has a pile of student debt to pay back when he does qualify, and what price will houses be by then, when the average home in the area he needs to be in is already over GBP1 million? Same problem in Australia with housing, too: too many immigrants, not enough properties and sky high house prices. Yet I feel that, as I had a university education, my children deserve the same. Besides, we need doctors.

@@hereweare9096 You're absolutely right and you do have my sympathy. As I'm older, on my own and priced out of the house market anyway as my son needs my apartment so I can't sell it, I'm busy trying to help my other family members hold on to their homes amid the cost of living inflation and mortgage interest rates rising Down Under - and one has lost his job. To be unemployed with today's size of mortgage and having kids to put through school in Oz these days, it's just not doable if you lose your job. You can't manage on 1200 a month from Centrelink. And house prices are nothing like Australia's, here in the UK.

Three cheeks of the same arse, I'm afraid. Ideologically barren, they ALL sign up to the SAME agenda - net zero madness, limitless immigration, big govt and high taxes, nanny state interference. All three official party lines were for remain during Brexit - ALL at odds with majority opinion. Seems like our Lib Dems are there for a purpose - a backstop, to soak up the disenfranchised - and then force through the same old unwanted policies.
@shitpeas

Also, the Lib Dems made commitments about student fees that they just threw overboard to get into government. They were "king makers" after the 2010 election, and they just accepted the Conservatives' plans for student fees - directly at odds with their manifesto commitments - and student fees rocketed as a result. Hypocritical power-hungry self-interested w**kers.

I missed the beginning of the live stream, catching up now. Regarding what to expect, I'd say: Expect the managed decline to continue. Expect immigration to continue at the same unsustainable levels. Expect capital flight and continued economic difficulties. Expect token gestures on tax that are positively portrayed by the establishment media - but expect to keep paying these record-level taxes. And, expect them to be very unpopular within a couple of years, once the reality of the uniparty sets in.
