For me, SOHYANG is the best female vocalist in the world, and DIMASH is the best male. And it’s not even close. I just discovered her two months ago, and I now listen to her daily. She and her family do all of her arrangements. She’s a cancer survivor who has turned down multiple offers for record deals. She sings solely to bring comfort and joy to people. She’s a marvel ❤️❤️

Ha ha ha! I should have read your comment first!!! That explains Sohyang’s deeper tone & I am assuming you did this by altering the playback speed. I know there seems to be more copyright issues with the Korean broadcasters, which seem to have gotten worse the more popular she has become but I would rather hear her correctly than see her correctly ( something similar to this was brought up with Sohyang in an interview & she said that the most important thing for her was to be heard correctly) so I suggest you do what so many others are doing now & put some sort of filter over the video. I know putting a sohyang video out may cause you more trouble than others but OMG!! she is so worth it. Finally, I am just so glad that you actually heard it correctly, your reaction makes more sense 😂

I have seen this performance at least 50+ times & to my ear the playback was a little slow, the tempo was slow & Sohyang’s voice was definitely lower than normal. You were impressed by this performance but if you heard it at the correct tempo you would be beside yourself, Sohyang’s voice is much clearer & brighter than this usually. I don’t know if it’s the video you’ve used from someone else or if it’s something you’ve done at your end but this wonderful lady deserves for her ‘from another planet’ vocals to be heard correctly. This is not a criticism of you, if it’s your 1st experience of Sohyang (pron. so yang) how are you to know, she still sounds good, but trust me, you are really missing out on something special if you’re not hearing it as it’s meant to be heard. I appreciate that you wouldn’t want to react to the same song twice, although I would love to see your reaction again to the real performance, so maybe choose another link & just watch it for your own enjoyment, the least you owe yourself is to hear just how beautiful her voice is & i am sure that will leave you hungry for more soyhang, if you aren’t already.

We all wonder if Sohyang is human or from another planet. Current odds are that she’s from another planet, with an outside chance she’s actually an angel come down from Heaven. 😇 We have never heard anyone sing like her, or be able to hold an audience in the palm of her hand until she lets them go. Her voice is, as one person described it, like liquid gold. Perfection in clarity and pitch, and she doesn’t fade in the upper octaves, which is startling when you hear her hit those 5th and 6th octave notes with such _POWER_ it actually gives everyone goose bumps-and makes us bald guys’ hair stand on end! As she says, her voice “is from God.” She does all the musical arrangements herself, with the input of her in-law family and musical assistants, teaches vocal technique at a South Korean university and speaks five languages: Korean, English, French, Vietnamese and Chinese, as well as reading Greek! Let me catch my breath. OK. She is a cancer survivor from uterine cancer at the age of 20, just after getting married, and states very plainly that God saved her life due to the prayers of her church. But this left her without the ability to have children so she decided to dedicate her life to being a Contemporary Christian Gospel singer and has refused recording contracts from the biggest corporations in the world. She only wants to sing for charities, churches and while doing missionary work, to strengthen those suffering through difficult times. David Foster, Josh Groban, Michael Bolton and others have all eagerly worked with her when they were in Asia. She contracted hepatitis B from a blood transfusion during her cancer surgery and it clings to her to this day.
