I think every British household has atleast one deck of waddingtons

Now you know the pain we card enthusiasts feel here in the UK! I agree with you that they serve their purpose for card games, and for people who want a deck of cards to take on holiday or just keep in a drawer at home. But compared to USPCC/Cartamundi decks, they don't compare. But yeah a lot of the time this is the best you'll find in physical stores in the UK. Recently though, WHSmith (a UK chain of stores that sells newspapers, magazines, books, games etc.) has started stocking standard Bicycle decks, which is a nice development, although they're more expensive than in the US. You mentioned you're travelling to London soon, is that for Cardistry Con by any chance? :D

the way i automatically winced when you tore the outer cardboard packaging before i remembered, oh right that IS the part you're actually meant to rip 😂 glad you did a review of these, i've been curious about these cards ever since i heard of them (which was fairly recently!) also the new editing style is cracking me up, great job

I remember being extremely young, just got into cards. I went into an asda (UK large shop chain) with my mum to go shopping, thats where i saw them. A two pack of these cards. I begged my mum and she bought em for me. I only opened the red one which i lost, but i dtill have the blue one. And now, i just ordered my first deck of Bicycle playing cards... wow.

Back when I just started doing cardistry, these were the highest quality decks I could find in my country. All the decks I used before were even more terrible than these. Bridge size, flimsy stock, cheap cardboard with "plastic coating" and the ink would even crack if you bend them, but that's the standard in my country when it comes to playing cards. I'll never forget the first time handling uspcc cards when I was old enough to order stuff online.

When I first got into magic, there was no internet, so Waddingtons were the order of the day for myself and my fellow Brits. They need to be 'worked in' and when done handle very nicely. Plus they are very affordable if you go through lots of decks.

The Holographic seal is I think it’s a certificated thing to say that this deck is not a fake. Idk. If someone knew it correctly, let me and Diggo know.

One thing that has always overwhelmingly irritated me about Waddingtons is they make SO much effort on their packaging and then put out garbage cards and dont produce anything domestically.

I'm British & I wouldn't touch a Waddington's deck....
