The system has been abused. The government should instead recruit within the country by investing more in apprenticeships and increasing the salaries of those sectors lacking a workforce.

In other words, to be sponsored on carer visa, the person has to be earning £23,200(coupled with the fact that you can’t bring dependants). Most care companies don’t even pay up to that. So it’s either the companies increase the pay or the individual cannot be sponsored.

Is anyone else having issues getting a supplementary job in another sector code even after this new law? My share code still starts that the 20hrs must be on the shortage occupation list and so even though I am applying for jobs on the eligible occupation list, employers do not want to go ahead after seeing my share code. Can anyone help on what to do ?

Please if someone secures a care worker COS before March 11th, and applies for visa before March 11th with dependents, but receives the visa after March 11th, can the person still travel to UK with dependents after 11th March?

Tochi, For new H&C worker that want to earn 10.75 per hour. 10.75X40hrsX52 weeks = £22,360. Does this affect visa application as you said it's now £23k on the new Immigration list ?

Does scrapping of occupation shortage list affect the people who are already on skilled worker visa? Say for example nowadays companies file 3 yr skilled worker visa and then they file for 2 yrs. So if someone is on a 3yr skilled worker visa, once those 3 yrs are complete, can their company file for their 2 yrs visa??

@@amiee28 IT jobs are on Table 8- list of jobs NOT recommended for ISL because the median salary is above £38,700. But I believe one can still get sponsorship for those roles.
