I don't know what is more worrying. The fact I just sat here and watched over 2 hours of classic TV ads, and enjoyed it. Or the fact I remembered each and every one of these ads once they began playing.

I started feeling all nostalgic but after a few minutes I genuinely thought, 'these ads have been on a while'. You expect to be surprised how cheap everything was but an Atari Console for £200 plus £20 per cartridge, for games like Space Invaders. That was a huge amount of money in the 80's! The main thing that struck me watching these though, although I'm pretty sure no one noticed at the time and it's only cos of what we know now, but at 53:22, after delivering the line, 'This is the age of the train', have you ever seen a more creepy smile in your life?

The ads I do remember a special K Fruit and Fibre Bran Flakes, Start, Coco Pops Frosties, Honey Nut Loops, Mars Twix Um Bongo Terry's All Gold Milk Tray, Roses and Vienetta . I remember Vision cookware as my paternal aunt by marriage (then in her 40s) had a set of saucepans . My uncle had used Old Spice my dad used Aramis and my elder brother had Brute 33. My mum had rive Gauche a perfume that had a black blue striped bottle. and Oil of Ulay moisturising cream We used Pares Soap but I also remember Knights Castile and Camay. I remember Shield being the soap in my late step- grand father's bathroom. I also remember Bold 3 Automatic as this was the washing powder my mum used in the washing machine, my late nan used Ariel and her late neighbour used Daz. My dad smoked Villigar cigar while other relatives and family members smoked either Superkings cigarettes or More cigarettes.

I remember an advert where a man is walking up a hill in a dark, wet English village and goes into a pub. He nods to the barman, who pours him a pint. As he sips at it musingly, he hears his name being repeated over and over and the background goes wavy. The scene changes to a turquoise bay with a yacht moored. The camera zooms in to the deck to focus on the subject who is just waking up with a beautiful woman shaking him. His first words are, "I've just had a wonderful dream". Can anyone tell me what this was, and if it's recorded anywhere?
