I was driving along a road i use every day for my commute, as i approached a set of traffic lights, i noticed a police vehicle parked on the pavement outside a shop. As i came to 20 foot of the lights, they changed from green to amber & i drove through...immediately, the police vehicle went into blue light mode & as i turned into my place of work, they followed & three officers jumped out, the youngest asking me if i knew why i had been stopped......i was informed that i had drove through the lights on red, which i disputed. I informed the young officer that i noticed their vehicle at least 50 metres before the lights. I told them that i was aware of their perspective & that, from their position, the lights were not visible to them, only the lights on the opposite side of the junction, so there was no way they could have seen the colour of the lights they claim i drove through on red..l invited them to walk to the junction with me to evidence their claim that the lights were visible to them & they refused, informing me that i was incorrect. The police officer informed me that i was under arrest & was being detained; she was coached by the two, senior, officers on the procedure, completing the charges on a handheld device. i was informed that court proceedings would follow but that the charges/details would be decided by the courts. i disputed their claims & was fully aware that i was being recorded, i asked if i would be able to challenge their assertions & i was told that i would.....10 months later & i've heard nothing more. They were liars & i felt that their actions were contrived to facilitate a teaching session/opportunity for the rookie. Corrupt, lazy & negligent.

They need the money for the migrant hotels.

AFAIk, temporary traffic lights are 'advisory' and you can't get prosecuted for driving through them in red. However, you can still get prosecuted for careless/dangerous driving. Had they been stuck on red with no cars coming the other way and nobody in the road works, that would have been fine.

For purposes of insurance a correspondence address is adequate and its the same for receiving benefits they just need an address to send the paperwork. The insurance company are insuring you to use a vehicle on any public road. Q.Where will car be kept during the day A. On a road away from home and same for during the night.

The thing is, people complain when the police give offenders a 'slap on the wrist' but also complain when they go hard?? Honestly, just be respectful to others when driving and don't endanger innocent people. The police are there to protect you and everyone else from what could have been a road traffic collision.
