You sort of get the feeling that there's nothing happening here really. The body language of the Russians suggests that it's relatively safe where they are and there doesn't seem to be any incoming fire at all.

the video doesnt do justice of how insanely loud it is to stand by one of those when they fire, you feel it in your chest its so damn loud.

This appears completely staged: The lack of any visible resistance, the exposed positions of the Russians, the camera filming a few feet away from a prime target, the thumbs up and smiles, and of course the old woman whose conveniently left in the village and walking out onto and open battlefield. On Wednesday, Russian Defence Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said that 124 aircraft and 77 helicopters, as well as 321 drones, 214 anti-aircraft missile systems, 1,750 tanks and armoured vehicles have been destroyed since the launch of the Russian special military operation.

As a former German soldier (2008-2021) I'll give you my personal thoughts and conclusions about this footage. Which means it is open for debate whether I'm correct or not. My personal thoughts regarding this footage: These guys make the impression that they don't really have a clue what their current objective is. Movement looks uncoordinated. The APC is hammering the building where the crew suspects enemy positions just to stand out in the open afterwards. Furthermore you can see some of the soldiers casually walking not taking cover (which is even more vital in urban combat). My conclusion regarding this footage: This looks like it may have been recorded after a real firefight in conquered territory (meaning it's staged for the Russian media). This is not a new thing. The Germans and the British did this back in WW I and WW II. A civilian might not be able to spot certain details. Anyway these are just my thoughts based on what I saw.

The main gun on that btr82 is a scary beast some rate of fire for a larger calibre round, not much hard cover could take the beating that thing is handling out

LOL. There's no "shift" in Russian strategy. From the beginning, Russian never intended to enter and assault major cities like Kiev. Instead they deployed forces in a feint to force Ukrops to defend those cities, effectively pinning them, and since Russia's had air supremacy from the getgo, attrit those units. Meanwhile, Russian Navy off Odessa pinned Ukrops there, while also launching strategic missile strikes. The primary goal of the Russian forces has ALWAYS been to encircle and reduce the vast majority of the "best" Ukrops who had assembled along the LOC with the intent to launch an assault on Donbas in early March, which of course the Russians with their excellent intelligence were already aware. Reduction of the east Donbas cauldron will now begin in earnest, essentially completing the task of wiping out the majority of whatever is left of Ukrops best troops.

No way I'm taking a slow walk across the street in urban combat. And a bunch of people hanging around in the open, not behind cover.

Just saw another documentry where an older lady was crying over her dad husband after he got shot while opening a window and suddenly it went bang-bang-bang, just like the sound of this BTR firing in the dust ot no target. Visibility is zero and gun is leveled up to shoot as far as possible. Also there is no fireing back - those fighters are so brave. Most probably the RT-Producer has asked for the szene.
