to everyone in the comments, the BTR-4 30mm can switch between slow and fast firing rates. In the video they are only using the slow fire mode on purpose to conserve ammo. Also the guy sitting in front recording is NOT the gunner. The gunner is standing up inside the turret ring. He's just seeing a secondary video feed of the actual gunner's optics.

@@kajetus0688 Yes it can if they use AP ammos. Depend of the ammos and the angle/armor obviously. Its like with bodyshields, soldiers are trained to do "doublets" or "triplets" to perfor the body armor because each shots can distorts the armor until its break.

I think 3 or 4 Russian soldier took a direct hit with the 30mm AP shell and also, you can see the gunner switch to HE when russian soldier starting to prone/repositioning.

@@BigShree True, the best you can manage to survive in a non-critical area is a 7,62 mm round, anything above will slowly bleed you to death, 12.5 - 14.5 is used in HMG’s, extremely rare chance of survival, and anything that goes above 20mm on engagement you are dead, either from a hit or from shrapnel released and in this case, 30mm AP meant for armored targets striking infantry and then HE annihilating proning ryssian infantry men.

30 mm cannon is a deadly weapon. It shoots almost like a assault rifle. Ammo effective 2km away. With pinpoint accuracy. And multiple hits melt any armor ed tank.

@@sombrerosobecnos It is 100% the gunner's viewpoint. Look at the joystick in the reflection and compare it to photos of the remote operated gunner's position in a BTR-4. Screen layout and joystick is identical to the gunners seat, plus the joystick movement precisely matches the gun's movement. It's certainly not the commanders seat, which is equipped with a completely different screen and control interface.

It does have thermals, I think there's another BTR-4 vid where it's using its thermals. Also they have ATGMs on them, usually 4 of them mounted next to the main gun. I'd agree the 30mm needs a faster fire rate tho.

Perfect fire rate. It conserves ammunition, aids in the observation of fall of shot, reduces effects on intermediate ballistics due to factors such as platform rock, and reduces barrel wear.

@@RedVRCC I believe it can switch between firing modes, as I’ve seen it fire much faster in another video. The cannon only has 300 rounds(50 more than a normal btr) so you gotta be careful. Though 300 is a lot when your shoot at that pace.

Single slow and fast fire In this footage, you can see the single-shot fire rate being used. 7.62mm PKT, a 30mm grenade launcher, and two ATGM launchers Usually it carries four, with two loaded in the launchers. The sights are both light-boosted and thermal.

probably because it's easier to see the bullets drop at far, and also, you mostly aim at horizon level in the BTR, so it's useless to see sky, and it's better to slightly move the camera downwards, to see more ground

No. The gunner asks, if they are friendlies, because he can not identify yellow or white arm marks and just then the commander gives the permission to engage.

I dont think he killed more than 2 soldiers, if his aim was better he would have gotten 5-6 but at first he was not sure if they are enemys of friendly, and you can see they started running before he started shooting

Dude 40mm bullets explode like hand grenades those guys are fucked. The ones who lived are hurt and Definitely don't have all their equipment now. Multiple squads takes out of the fight just by killing 2 guys. That's how the taliban won. Hurting 1 guy takes 2 men out of the fight to move them, a helicopter to extract the injured, a medical team to help them its goes down the line
