"So today it's Easter Sunday in Poland. As Catholics, we celebrate after 40 days of Lent, we celebrate the resurrection of Christ. And today is the day when He resurrected. So right now, me and my colleagues organized a little Easter breakfast for everyone here, for volunteers for the refugees, for whoever wants to come because we just want to share the happiness of our celebration."

"This Easter is very different from the previous Easters because many people are in a life threatening situation. They lost their homes. They are seeking refuge in our country. So we want to bring a little bit of maybe feeling of home, a feeling of celebration to forget for a moment about all the terrible things that happen and seek happiness and hope in the fact that Jesus has risen. We really wish them all the best we have. We really wish that the war will end and they will be safe and sound and their families will be safe and that they can have a little bit of.... that they can relax a little bit because Christ saved us all and there's hope for everyone."

STORYLINE:
Ukrainian refugees continued to cross into Poland via the Medyka border on Sunday amidst Catholic Easter celebrations.
On the Polish side of the border, refugees spoke about their wishes for Easter as station volunteers prepared a traditional Easter meal to lift their spirits.
Maria Dontsova, a refugee from Kharkiv, said that she wished the war would be over soon and there would be an end to suffering.
Natalia Leshyshyn, a refugee from Lviv said that she wished Ukraine would win the war and peace would be restored.
She also hoped for peace across all countries.
Marina Voloshyna, a refugee from Odesa said she wished she could return home soon.
Agnieszka Kuszaj, a Polish paramedic and her volunteer colleagues prepared a traditional Easter breakfast for refugees.
