aTrippyFarmer and the crew are back to bring you more farming adventures. In this episode, Andy and his family are working to complete haul away some of their old crop corn. This corn in particular is a high priority because it is stored in the older harvestores, which are not great for long-term storage, especially compared to modern grain bins. Andy's grain truck is just getting back into service from a major engine repair, so he proceeds lightly to start the day. After they get everything set up and loaded, Andy makes a few trips to the elevator, flies his new drone, and talks about local agriculture. Later on, Andy briefly discusses the impact that the Ukrainian/Russian War has on global agriculture. It is a losing battle due to both sides of the fight. Ukraine's vast acreage of fertile farmland will most likely not get planted, and Russia's fuel and fertilizer output will be cut off from the rest of the world. Global agriculture will see higher commodity prices, but they also will have to pay much higher prices to grow upcoming crops. Thanks for watching!
#Farm #Illinois #Harvest #Fall #FarmingSimulator22
Andy "aTrippyFarmer" Dole is a 6th generation farmer from Central Illinois. On this farm, Andy works alongside his father, Marty, his uncles, Chris and Jeff, and his sister, Katie, to grow corn and soybeans on some of the finest dirt in the world. Andy and his family are deeply rooted in the area, operating a large farm that traces it origins back into the 1800s. Although some tracts did not stand the test of time, Andy and his family still grow corn and soybeans on fields that have been in the family for longer than even the oldest members of the farm have been alive. We do, we have, and we always will take tremendous pride in calling this piece of paradise our home. Andy was a Bronze Tablet graduate of the University of Illinois in the field of Crop Sciences, following the same path as his father and late grandfather.
It would be misleading for Andy to claim that this life is one that came by chance; rather, as a member of two multi-generational farm families, it was simply in his blood. His passion for agriculture traces back to his early youth--some of his fondest, earliest memories being of days spent riding in the combine with his father and grandfather. Although his understanding of the lifestyle was much less complex in the beginning, the love he has for farming, and its industry has only appreciated through time. As this dream blossomed into adulthood, Andy now works relentlessly, and tirelessly, to chase his own dreams and to build a farming operation of his own alongside his family.
We, as a whole operation, are handymen, electricians, mechanics, landscapers, accountants, economists, caretakers, stewards, and, most importantly, farmers, and we take an incredible amount of pride in our work. There is no challenge too overwhelming, no situation too stressful, and no problem too difficult for us to take on, and we want to take you along with us. Welcome to our farm and welcome to our lives. You have the best seat in the house to watch the everyday chaos of farming unfold--we usually only get concerned when things aren't going wrong!

Keep the head down and keep the farming going. We're going to need all the bushels this year. I just finished planting here, I could use that after planting rain. All my inputs are paid for on the crop. Waiting on that next rain now.

South Dakota’s Governor Kristi Noem yesterday, said she’s very concerned bc SD does a lot of ag & the CCP has been buying up American fertilizer companies. I knew about them buying a lot of land in Utah. Her point was, if America is dependent on any other country for food, it’s a major national security threat. Same with fuel, even though we could be energy independent. Wondered if you’ve heard anything about that.
@aTrippyFarmer
@aTrippyFarmer 2 жыл бұрын
I haven't heard anything about that in particular, but I do know that foreign land ownership concerns some people. Other than controlling the supply of crop inputs, someone will not be able to steal food from you by simply owning and farming the land in your country. Farmers depend entirely on the logistical networks built around the country for processing and exporting grain. Without building an entire network to circumvent the normal channels for grain movement, no foreign country could take the grain from the US without wasting large amounts of money. That being said, they could just buy the grain on the global exchange and not even have to own any ground. China in particular is such a large consumer of grains that simple news headlines can move commodity prices to their daily limits. All they would have to do is lie about something to bring prices down and buy it cheaper.

I spent an hour or two searching and trying to remember the name of your farming channel. Going as far as goggling KZfaq farmers. Hours later and after watching a Brian's farming video. I figured I'd scroll down in search of you. I being concerned that I haven't been able to watch any of your videos in what seemed months. Knowing full well you had left us off with a hand injury. I was hoping to find you. So, I could leave a comment wishing you well and a speedy recovery. Thankfully I found you before it drove me completely nuts. I have one question. When do we get a video explaining your pinch point finger injury? Best wishes young man. Hopefully 2022 brings your farm another bumper crop season...
