Problem is that those are on Polish territory according to the new contract signed with the defunct president of Ukraine (not legitimate anyway). @@rupok90 The city of Kiev should be included , it is a historically Russian city and represents the continuity between early Russia and the Tsardom that later had its seat in Moscow. Also, the Black Sea coastal region needs to be brought back. A landlocked and neutral Ukraine with its capital somewhere in the west (Lviv?) will be of no interest to western alliances.

Second, I do not think that the EU wants to share the prey. If they success in getting the Ukraine - at least what the Russians let them - into the EU they want it in one piece - it is much easier to begin/go on with the colonization.

That's an aspect of the Russians that really annoys me. Certain incompetent commanders who haven't been cleansed yet still run a great portion of the Russian army, and that claim is coming from elite Russian soldiers who are complaining about how their lives and their comrade's are still thrown away because of some bastards with high ranks. You notice that while some directions don't attack until they make sure that they have completely pummeled all possible Ukrainian positions, others merely launch an armored attack with little preparation. I wouldn't claim that I could do it better though I've got a ranking officer background, yet I don't understand how come that though after more than two years on the ground, some commanders haven't learned shit

Hell, up into 1918 the HQs of both Entente and Central Powers kept large cavalry reserves at the ready to "break through the breach the infantry opened, swarm the enemy's rear and make a dash to Berlin/Paris.", after 4 years of absolute deadlock in the trenches.

@@shallowdarkness5626yes at the end of the day a lot of decisions are just made by average people who make mistakes and don’t plan correctly or simply get caught out , take 50 men and 1 or 2 will be exceptional , several completely incompetent and the rest just average - it’s how life works in any sphere , it applies at all levels and in all careers , but in the military mistakes cost a lot of lives and you don’t always get chance to learn from your mistakes ! A bit like riding a motorcycle beyond your skill level. The elite know that so many lives will be wasted , it’s just collateral damage and therefore numbers are what is important and not individuals - you have to be a mug to be in an army , the smart guys are far from the action and at almost no risk .
