This is the coolest "How It's Made" style tour I've ever watched. A+, go Vulcan Centaur!

It is unseemly for an institution that is as noble as a rocket company to get its employees or affiliates to leave positive messages on their own SocMed pages. It is dishonest and launch providers need to operate at circa 100%.

@@jacobreuter Ok I’ll say it again: The ULA is a good company run by a good man (although I will never understand the BE-4 decision) and it’s Social Media Department should not sink to the level of spamming it’s own YT uploads with positive reviews. That is at the level of joke companies like Virgin Galactic and Blue Origin who engage in this practice as a matter of course.

well to be fair ULA's current rockets would have to have a massive redesign and loose a bit of their launch capability in order to make them, 1 survive reentry, 2 land back on earth in a way that would allow them to be reused much like the spacex ones are. There is a reason why spacex have two different launch profiles for the F9, reuseable and expendable

Thanks ULA for the video, I am not trying to be cynical or discredit such as great company as ULA , but it's clear the future is reusable rockets, with SpaceX being the pioneer and their monsterous fully resuable Starship coming up soon and Blue Origin giant New Glenn on the way in few years (hopefully) and 10s of other companies working on their own reusable rockets, ULA definitely will be out of business in less than a decade, (plus the helicopter catching proposal is not really an effective solution), I hope they start working on actual reusable rocket before it's too late.

SpaceX is undeniably crushing all launch provider competition apart from Rocket Lab who seem like a smart bunch and so who therefore deserve a share of the market. As from now any company that isn’t developing a fully reusable rocket is a dinosaur and the only thing that will stop them from going extinct is government subsidies.

ULA has some really cool tech and applications. Many gifted engineers and production people for sure. If they were to use a more creative presentation template for these KZfaq videos the impact of the message would reach and influence many more people. In other words, really lose the "old space" persona.I could go on .....

It seems like a huge waste of material and machining to take a thick panel and mill it out. Why not build a rounded frame section and then put a skin over it? More welding but much less machining, material, and time wasted. And why are all these rocket factories in Alabama? Because Senator Richard Shelby is the Aerospace Czar of the U.S. Government? Elon Musk was right. The formation of ULA was an intent to monopolize and shouldn't have been allowed under U.S. law.
