@Il mitico forgiatore Clown democrat is shit, everything is all for money and corrupt as hell, we are trying to fix corruption but no success so far. no one thinks about the country, only looking for money. it's just like other post-socialist countries, corrupt, economical weakness, etc. only Russia seems escaped that since it has found a good president. for imperial, there is no imperial bloodline left after revolution, you know what happens in revolution, so its impossible, and for communism even if we want to convert to back first, there is no idealism left like communist value, second, we would be sanctioned and bankrupted and would be swallowed by either China or Russia in no time, the only choice left is democratic and we just have no choice to try to survive. Personally, I would like to kill all parliament members and support new young blood who are nationalistic. Parliament and parties are no different from thieves like any democratic country.

This song is interesting. Years ago I learned this song in a music class in primary school, and this song was adapted into a children's song with Chinese lyrics. Its title was《草原就是我的家》(Grassland is my home). This song's melody is well known in China. I always thought it was a folk song from Inner Mongolia, but not until today that I know it actually is a revolutionary song from Outer Mongolia about independence from China. It really surprised me. 😯

@Bryan Ganzo The Kuomintang had invaded and occupied Outer Mongolia (today’s country of Mongolia) and were driven out by Mongolian Revolutionaries.
@tora9915
@tora9915 3 жыл бұрын
@Bryan Ganzo I call it “outer” Mongolia only because the region known as Inner Mongolia (which is also sino-centric) is still a part of China. Also, the Kuomintang is NOW more on Taiwan than mainland China. Prior to the Chinese Civil War, the Kuomintang and their Republic of China ruled over what is now the PRC (excluding Tibet). Finally, a year and a half of occupation is still occupation. The ROC claimed Mongolia as part of China, and the Mongols didn’t want that, hence the revolutionaries.

Are you sure this wasn't recorded in the 1940's? That plucked instrument from 00:38 can also be heard in the 1945 Mongolian movie "Tsogt Taij" (Prince Tsogt). A Mongolian newsreel of the 1946 Naadam wrestling festival also has this plucked instrument sound as well as that flute from 1:43. The photo fits the music well. In the 1940's Cyrillic still wasn't fully adopted yet. I saw an old photo of Marshal Choibalsan giving a speech to a session of the Mongolian parliament or something and there were all these drapes with vertical Mongolian script. Quite a sight really.

I don’t see how a recording of this high quality could be from the 1940s. I have old Mongolian records from the 1940s and the audio quality is pretty poor. Regardless, the record sleeve for this one says 1981, so I’m inclined to believe it.

Just realized that there is a Chinese lyrics to the song (labeled as a “Mongol folk song), but with only two stanzas. A rough literal translation of the Chinese version is: 1. Our red flag is the war flag Which we raise and destroy our enemies; They will be mercilessly eliminated, O see the crimson flag in our hands. 2. Our red flag is the war flag Under which we unite as one; The red flag of our commander whom we will follow forever.

The full translation of the line is "Let's destroy the deceiving and looting enemies in cheer." That is to say, the enemies are deceivers and looters and must be defeated. Mongolians fought the Revolution to become independent from China. The Bogd Khan and others declared independence from China in 1911. So the song celebrating the 1921 Revolution, which again fought off General Hsu and Chinese occupation, has heavily imposed Soviet ideology about the enemy being the West. Yet Mongolia was never a Western Colony, nor unlike Beijing, did any Western powers every occupy Mongolia. Mongolians were forced to go lockstep with the USSR.
