This video shows Ullswater before after and during the Floods of 2015 and 2016. With updates on Pooley Bridge, Aira Force, Glenridding and the Ullswater Steamers. Also the true story of a dramatic rescue of Lady Wakefield.
With the Easter Holidays in 2016 approaching visitors and tourists who have heard the story of the flooding and destruction of the Bridge at Pooley Bridge will be anxious for any news. Happily there is only good news on that story and we have it in writing that Pooley Bridge will be open for Easter. But don't forget the village of Pooley Bridge is up and running now and was not damaged by the floods of 2015 2016. Glenridding, with it's Holy Well of St Patrick is also open. Good news if you are planning your Easter Holidays, Summer Holiday, Autumn or Winter Break and want to visit Ullswater, Glenridding or Pooley Bridge. More good news, Ullswater Steamers are running and the National Trust famous beauty spot of Aira Force was unscathed by the Floods.
So I you are planning an Easter away the Lake District National Park and Cumbria are Open For Business. Visit Cumbria, the watery County, it's even on our flag.

Just a reminder until Easter visitors to Pooley Bridge will have to detour the bridge via Penrith, a beautiful town and well worth a visit.
