ITs also the PC no one would realistically buy. I mean its complete overkill. Sure some people could use its full power. But if its a work station, chances your company supplies you with more than enough to do your job. Unless you're self-employed which then makes this a write-off.

watching this in 2020, This honestly seems like the perfect setup for me. I don't need water quad graphics cards but to serve as a NAS for my house plex server, and play PC games while streaming to twitch while using plex in another part of the house while not having space in my room for multiple PC's this looks like a great option. Especially when i don't need top of the line parts to do any of those tasks. This PC as it sits now is probably a $10k build in 2020.

I would use the case for my gaming system (1x GTX 1080) and isolate it so that it runs at ~5 °C to then use it as a fridge so I can store about 20 cans of soda in it and don't have to go to the kitchen while gaming. So it would be a nice Gaming-RGB-Fridge, the first fridge in the world with iCUE support :D

Well yes and no... A computer this powerful might fit on a wrist watch size 40 years in the future. However, a top of the line home computer in the future will probably be the same size. In the 80s when my dad built his first computer, it was top of the line for home computers at the time, but it was still around the same size as modern home computers. The thing is, in the future, I think everyone will have a home server computer that will work as a mainframe, and then they'll just have input output devices with them at all time. So at that point in the future, you'll be carrying a touch screen with a battery and an antenna, and that's all you'll need.

Ever since you did your review on the concept Slate super computer, I’ve want one! I’m just waiting for Corsair to bring out their custom water cooling product so I can keep it a full Corsair pc build. Once they do, I plan on making a Super Project Deadpool gaming rig! Thanks for showing what can be done with is case. Gives me a lot of ideas.

With a case that large, 1 vs 1 with a friend wont require and bedsheet or cardboard trickery to prevent one person looking at another's screen. Just launch that gentle giant in between the two and you've got the 2018 version of cardboard delineated splitscreen.

Theatre/live performance work is the application that came to my mind. to have near-silent operation and relative compactness is a plus, the beefier system would be ideal for any production involving projection mapping, while the secondary system could be running Q-lab or ETC's Nomad software. That said, this would be one extremely well off theatre that would implement a system like this, and any touring production would probably prefer a rack-mounted system.

cataria pega yes I needed a case that would house two 560mm radiators. I have two hwlabs 560mm black ice sr1 radiators with 140mm fans running at 700 rpm - they are cooling 6950x and two evga 1080 TIs. Silence was my number 1 priority, and everything needed to be housed inside the case - sm8 fit the bill.

That is one sexy build. if I were to have a slate chassi with the dual system. I'd use the workstation for video editing/photo editing and blender. Obviously the gaming-rig for gaming and some casual stuff like watching youtube. I could also use the workstation to stream the game I'm playing on the gaming-system.

I would use the system to perform finite element analyses that take my working laptop anywhere from ~15 minutes to three hours per separate trial to complete for simple to complex 3D models in Creo Parametric. A system like this could run multiple iterations of FEM analyses as well as random excitation analyses, which would have been perfect for certain projects I've worked on. On top of that, it would not impede on my productivity, so while the analyses are running, I could use it to continue to model, or leisurely game while I wait. One can dream...

This would help me as I do FX work for production so all those Simulations would be hard at work caching out or Rendering, while I work on Another Simulation on the smaller ITX system. This would Hugely increase my Work turn around time. P.S the color scheme is really awesome, well done.

I got this case for my Son, to house his gaming PC using Asus ROC Maxmus XII Extreme, 2 x 32GB DDR4, Power Supply EVGA 1600W Titanium, EVGA 2080Ti Kingpin, 1TB Samsung 970 Pro M2, Intel i9 10900K, Noctua NH-D15, 3 x Noctua 140mm Chromax Fans at the front, 8 x Noctua120mm NF-A12x25 top and rear, Asus Roc Strix XG27UQ Monitor as prices 1/2 in the UK, The CPU Temperature is Amazingly Low around 30C, Chip Temperature around 38C, I use 2 x Noctua 120mm Fans at the rear of the case to help the NH-D15 pull out the heat from the rear of the case, swapped the 120mm Fan Mounting to the Top of the Case where it fits the holes at the top of the case, and use the Noctua 140mm to the Front of the case, later I might use a fan card to help cool the 2080Ti at the side, I must say the case is very well built, Very heavy, only thing I don't like to see is the cage for the Hard Drives not required these days, I want to use SSD's behind the barn door, apart from that I am pleased that the large size of the case helps to keep things cooler, that's what I wanted, and sure enough has proved it's worth !, later on there is enough space to experiment say with water cooling? :) Nice Video Linus :), My Son & I watch your tips in the industry thank you again :)

Sweet video as always @LinusTechTips I invested in the Obsidian 500D when I launched my show in 2019 and love it, the 1000 makes me smile when I see full-grown adult men the same size next to it. I don't game a ton but would love to see how fitting twin Xeon MOBOs in there may be used for 3D Rendering (Is there a way to get both boards running in tandem?) that would be fun to watch on Cinebench. Thanks again for always doing these videos right :)

Building out of my 500D case made me take a look here and, welp, I wasn't disappointed! Personally I don't think anyone outside of professional streaming/3d work actually uses something that insane, but that is a pretty neat case and PC. However if I owned like an internet cafe in Japan or something, I might consider this build because in an environment like that, having a system that can "do it all" can be very popular with those who come to rent out systems. Still pretty cool to see 2-in-1 like that.

Good sponsors BTW, I visited both - though I thought the clothing vendor was absurdly overpriced in every sense of the word - hell, if they just had something a bit more special about their products, I could get with the price - but nothing all that exciting, worth the extra funds! - iFixit's Pro Tech toolkit, on the other hand, is Now on my "to purchase soon" list! - thanks for that and the entertaining review, helping me to get clear about a project I will likely never do and exactly why that is! BTW, I really admire that you are taking your profitability on yourself, freeing your work from Google/KZfaq's absurd, out of touch, restrictive, almost abusive, especially to Free Speach, Advertising and Funding policies - by getting your own excellent sponsors! - Good-on-ya Mate!
