I had this done to my 93 when I had the system installed in it a few years ago. They also installed an audio control epicenter in dash too. It looks really good. Somehow the guy used the factory bezel around the HVAC controls and made the rest off of it. I like it because there's no visible screws holding it on.

Great Video! I just received my kit the other day from eBay. Gotta pull the dash to replace the evaporator core & heater core, figured I'd do the A/C relocate and Eonon Android install then. Got a brand new TKO 500 I'm stickin' in there too. Should be a happy '88 Fox!

I did something similar to this YEARS ago and I was only able to do this to 1 other car (2x! As his car was stolen and had me do another radio for him when they found his car). When I tried to "sell" my idea 99% of the time I hear...the only tunesI need are the engine and exhaust.😞 Congrats on doing this! No hate here at all! I used the factory piece in my 92 and trimmed the hvac stuff down and used the kit that you could buy for the radio and eq and flipped THAT piece upside down. The contour remained the same. I agree that Ford should have done it this way. As far as the top piece... I used a thin piece of strong cardboard to go over the top of the original plastic and wrapped vinyl that matched the plastic that was there originally. This was for a single din radio (not a double din). I decided to recess mount my radio slightly and NOT use the trim piece that the radio comes with. I thought it looked cleaner with the face plate of the aftermarket radio being what was seen and not the extra bezel. Later on I ended up recovering the vinyl that covered the original oval (now rectagular) piece as well as the the radio kit (that now fits the eq and climate controls) AND the shift boot plate with the same color vinyl that the rest of the dash was. Looked SO nice! I worked at an auto upholstery shop at the time I did this (GS Auto Upholstery) I had even called the company that made the kit and tried to explain the better way to relocate the HVAC stuff and was told I was trying to reinvent the wheel and it would not sell well. Congrats on proving them wrong! Haha! 😇😎😀

I know it doesn’t relate to it but I took a 90 fox console assy and used it in my 65. Took a lot of cutting and rebuilding it afterwards but looks great in it. I’m still not finished, I have to get some hardener and finish the end caps so you can’t tell it’s been cut. The things you can do when you take your time and take it one piece at a time. I should make a video on how I did it.

a pair of little rubber bumpers with self adhesive in place of the spacer "screw" would be a much better option. I'd also recommend trimming those 4 bezel screws to just an 1/8in. or so past the back of the j-clips. I could see that much extra threaded thru the back side possibly being problematic. Great work, nice piece!!

I noticed you put the 87-89 console into a 90-93 car? So the only big difference is the center console itself? meaning If I had a 90-93 console I could use that instead of my factory 87-89 console? makes for less work? this is assuming I swap over the 90-93 HVAC panel and if wiring is the same. I ordered you 87-89 bezel but was just curious! Keep up the good work! Thanks for making this kit!!!
