I swear, we have had the SAME EXPERIENCES in our artistic beginning! I've just newly subscribed to your channel, and I have been binge watching your videos all day. Its funny because just about everything you've said, suggested, shared, even your coloring style is the exact same things I do. Or have done. Especially your #2 tip 🤦‍♀️. Happy lessons learned late lol! Also, its so refreshing to listen to someone on KZfaq that has her own opinion. Instead of what every other channel 🙄 has already said, teaching the same techniques with different shade of the same color. Or the "rules" of coloring with colored pencils. Its (in my opinion) just rude. There shouldn't be rules or guidelines for someone's expression of beauty in color. Shew! Rant 2021 over lol. Thanks for being original. It has been so refreshing to be able to step out of that box and actually have fun with my tools again. Your incredibly talented and so funny! I wish I could leave KZfaq a comment card 😆

Thank you for sharing! It's like coloring with a twin or buddy! Not of my friends or family have a interest in Anything color or art related. So I you guys on KZfaq feel like friends that I can relate my interests with. That looks worse wrote our than when I say it in my mind lol. I have friends lol. Just none that give a hoot about my hobby lol. So that makes it difficult for me to share something pertaining to art because THEY JUST DON'T GET IT! Lol. My mom and I colored together about everyday from the time I could hold a pencil until her untimely passing in 2018. So I don't have my color buddy. That is why what you and other KZfaq artist really are doing something that means something way more important and special than you probably realize. Thank you for the dedication you put into your channel. I've learned so much and laughed so hard gurl. I get so excited when you post a video n I hear....Welcome to my Channnelllll!!! Happy coloring! Sorry for the story lol. If your still reading this lol. Stay safe

I am SO glad I found your channel! I loved coloring as a kid and decided to take it up as an adult hobby, but was getting frustrated trying to "use a light hand" and spending countless hours that I didn't have to spare putting down multiple layers, and wishing I could afford those expensive top-of-the-line sets. I was getting SO frustrated that I couldn't find any joy in it, and almost gave it up completely. Then one of your videos came up on my suggested videos list - I watched it and loved it! The more of your videos I watch, the more I'm enjoying coloring again! You made it OK to not spend countless hours layering, to choose my colors without using palettes and color wheels, to color with my Chinese knock-offs and to use a heavy hand since that's what is natural for me! THANK YOU!!!

OMG!!! Thankfully I found you as I just am wanting to start this journey and the 1st one I saw was horrible. I was like I could never color like an artist but you have broke it down to where a chic can get it. Just real talk, real facts and amazing tips. Thank you because I would’ve went on Amazon and spent so much $$$ on things I wouldn’t like or use because I’m a beginner. You’re the best. Will be watching all your videos. Just seeing this now in 08/2024 and so happy you are on here😊

This video has totally changed my perspective on my artwork. I love all the points you made especially about not buying everything because I did that and I’m overwhelmed with all my books but still want more. So I’m now going to use what I have and maybe treat myself every once in a while. Thank you for making this video

Thank you for this! I only wish that I had knew these things when I first started because I too have tons of books and supplies that I have not and will not use. I would see someone's beautiful colored page and go buy that pencil set so I could color like that. I know it sounds foolish but it is what I thought in my head. So now I am learning that I am not going to color just like someone else. And I am just like you that I like deep, rich colors, I'm heavy handed, and I don't want to do 20 layers for one leaf. So I am learning to let go and do me. And I am enjoying it so much more. Im.looking forward to 2021 coloring and more of your videos. Thank you!!

Buying books that you don't like, don't need or won't color in because it's cheap is a mental illness. I buy a book at least once a month but I love the books that I buy and I'll do at least 12 pages in each book. I will color all the pages that I like. By the way I love your video.

I bought the cheapest set I could find at first... I ended up throwing them in the garbage can because they were not colouring at all. I tried a few tricks like puting them in hot water, etc... didn't do anything. It was only 25$, but I could have done something better with it... I finally bought a set of 120 Faber-Castell as my first workable pencils. The store was renovating, so they needed to get the space :) Half price :D Where I'm getting at is buy a student set to try different technics and just explore what you could do while waiting for deals (boxing days, promotions, etc.)

Thank you so much for a down to earth coloring tutorial. I learned a lot. I'm still a beginner and have yet to color a picture that I've said, "Wow" to. I wish I could find a beginners guide that doesn't spend all of it's time on what stuff to buy and how to organize materials. I'd like to find a series of classes from one to 10, or whatever. I just decided today that this would be a good hobby for me to try. I read that it may help with some of my anxiety and depression. If I a lucky, maybe it will help to get my mind off of obsessive thoughts. I am dealing with child loss and finding it hard to cope at times. I have watched a few videos on adult coloring today, but haven’t bought any supplies yet. I’m so happy I stumbled across this channel. I am a little apprehensive though. I thought that first picture that was the beginner color sheet ( with the butterflies) looked really pretty. If that’s what is viewed as ugly in the coloring world, I’m a little scared to start now. My hands aren’t quite as steady as they used to be before the sudden loss of my daughter, but the doctor says this should get better with time. Should I just wait to start or go ahead and give it a go shaky hands and all?
@DollarDiva99
@DollarDiva99 2 жыл бұрын
Please start Now! I started this hobby to deal with the sudden loss of my Mom. It has helped tremendously. The only reason I feel the butterfly pic is not amazingly beautiful is bc I have since improved my coloring skills and look back on that pic as a reminder of where I started. We all have to start at a point lower than expected sometimes... That's just a sad reality for me as a perfectionist. But all in all I'm so glad I started somewhere, regardless of the skill level. BTW my hands are not working well either. Lupus. Fibromyalgia. Arthritis and more. So you can do it! Happy Coloring 💜💚💛🧡💙❤️

Sending you hugs and most importantly, prayers. What you're experiencing is normal. I hope you're still coloring or doing something to keep your mind busy. I too started with coloring. No matter where I went or what I was doing, I pulled out my coloring. Not saying it was always appropriate, but I was a mess just trying to put one foot in front of the other. Actually, most of the time I was just trying to stand. I finally cried ... SCREAMED out to a God I never knew, didn't want to know, but thought .... if there's a chance he's real, PLEASE HELP ME! He answered my prayers. I know He's real. I find my days more bearable. I have someone to turn to now. Best wishes to you on this day July 7, 2023.

@@samsmom400 thank you so much for your kind words. I send love and prayer back to you. This journey we both share is something felt so deeply that it has totally changed the person that I am. Although the loss of her doesn’t totally consume me as it once did, there are still days, even after all these years, that I find it hard to breathe without her. I, too, am banking on God. I have to. I am living only for the day He calls me home and she is there waiting for me. Always, in loving memory of our children 💕
