This seems like a weird comparison, at least over here in New Zealand. The G923 is almost half the price of the T300 RS here, which is again almost half of the price of the CSL Elite.

Something to keep in mind is that all three of these wheels come in at very different price points. We're talking hundreds of dollars in difference. I have a G29 (which is the same as 923 but even cheaper right now) and I have been blown away by how good it is for the money. SO if you came from like the cheap toy level racing wheels when you were a kid like I did, it is a perfect entry to see if you even like doing sim racing.

I got into sim racing back in March of 2020 when the world went into lockdown over the virus. I wasn't sure if I would really get into, and I started off with a cheap $75 wheel from Thrustmaster and playing Assetto Corsa (got a deal on it in Steam). But I found myself hooked on sim racing. But after 4 months, the cheap TM wheel broke. I got my $75 worth of fun out of it. But did some research and the RS300GT from Thrustmaster. I love the wheel and just took my sim racing to another level. Best $400 (with shipping) I ever spent for my sim racing.

The mounting clamp on the G series are good when you know how to do it and not over tighting it.I have a g27 that not move compare to the t300. You need at least 2,5-3cm thickness to clamp it right.They added rubber pads on this one apparently,maybe that reduce the minimum thickness.When using a wood box to prevent the pedals moving,the thrustmater one flip over on heavy breaking.The logitech don't flip over.The "loose" center by default on the T300 is a bit confusing to do very little movements steering/counter-steering.A dead zone on the g923 will come over time,cause it's still dual motor from my expectation,maybe i'm wrong.

That thrustmaster clamp is a joke, You absolutely need to grease threads and the bolt itself (wd40 worked fine for me),if you dont grease it u cant even tighten it properly, good luck playing rally games with unsecure clamp... Saying u decided to greace it up a bit, well when you gonna want to losen it up a bit and move it to a corner of a desk, thats cool, next time you will want to clamp it, its gonna spin on you, wiggle side to side till you tighten it up in its place. Both clamps are shit, but I would go back to logitech clamp system.

I went from a g27 to g29. I was very unimpressed with the “upgrade”. It felt like the same wheel with even the same dead zone int the center. I bit the bullet abd got a csl elite with the pedals. Changed my sim world experience overnight. The base force feed back is not even close to these other two. The csl kills it. There’s almost no dead zone in wheel unlike Logitech’s. And the force feed is almost unexplainable, you feel every little detail and I find it much easier to catch slides before u enter a spin. But the biggest improvement came from the break pedal. I hated those drivers who would outbreak you and be under you before you got to a corner but now I understand why. Finding the hardest pressure you can apply while not locking up tires is rather easy with fanatec. I felt like on my Logitech it was a guessing game. Overall your times won’t change much from the wheel over the others but your love it more and spin a lot less, the real time you pick up on track is from the pedals. 3x the price 10x the upgrade value. If you can afford it and are thinking about it. Get it.

@MikeHoncho24ever
@MikeHoncho24ever 3 жыл бұрын
@@tylerblake3596 I did not. I got outta gt racing kinda fast and didn’t have need for it on ovals. The foam does a incredible job of giving you progressive pressure so if your casual or an oval racer is still far better than and Logitech pedal. If u heavy break then the load cell would pay its self off pretty easily. I preordered the new csl dd and will be ordering a set of their v3 pedals for that wheel just because I want the load cell in the break. After over a year with the csl pedals I’m really for an upgrade. Same advise. If you can afford it and want it you won’t regret it and im sure you’re notice the difference instantly.

I got into sim racing back in the mid 2000's. I had a G25 and the G27 and the original fanatec wheel had only came out when i had to move and therefore didnt have space for my rig so i basically gave up on that stuff. Recently i'm getting the urge to get back into it, and the G29 seems just like the G25 but with some extra buttons. Pretty bloody underwhelming. On the other hand, the new fanatec stuff looks next level compared to what was around in 2010. But god damn, that shit is expensive! Here in aus, for wheel, base, and pedals is over $2k! that's nuts. But i got no choice, i have to start saving up for it

@@bik3r230 Sim racing is kinda ... not a cheap sport. It's like searching for "budget model rocketry", well rocket's aint cheap. Sim racing ain't cheap either if you really want it to fulfill the "Sim" part of Sim racing. 100-200$ wheel for sim racing is kinda not ... sim racing. They're just wheels with potentiometer and buttons, kinda unreliable, and they're not really simulating anything really. Kinda breaks the whole idea of being a "sim" and it's difficult to decide which wheel from the $100 range is better, because they're all kinda really cheapy for this kind of sport and do not compete much on anything. Just to give you an idea, the wheels at $300 budget range have feedback that simulate the real feel of driving a car. It's what makes this a sim racing, and not just playing NFS in your xbox 360 controller. The low budget market in sim racing is $300-600, and on mid budget it can go as high as $2.000-10.000. It's not a cheap sport. If you just want a wheel to turn, go for $100-200 range, nothing wrong with that. But it's not really sim racing. It's more of an arcade gaming.

so i have used the Logitech G920 wheel for a while, 3 years or so i think, and i recently upgraded to the CSL Elite wheel with the nascar wheel, i use it primarily on iracing, not much else but i run alot of things on iracing, dirt oval, asphalt oval, and some road course stuff, i used the Logitech for a while, and i was frequently uncomfortable on the wheel, in almost everything i raced i could never just jump in and race, i always had to spend huge amounts of time messing with settings and other things, also to add on i could just never ever get used to the break pedal, but ill talk more about that later. The Logitech wheel has a weird design its not round its got the bevels and me being a guy with large palms and very short fingers, i was never comfortable unless my hands were 50/50 and that made any form of oval stuff a tremendous pain in the ass, because i had to mess with steering ratio's and offsets every time i raced. One quick positive though, the wheel was incredible on F1 2018-2019! that was until the right paddle stopped working Eventually i found a resolution to my issues with the wheel itself, i managed to find a 14 inch MPI racing wheel for a cheep price, and i purchased the Steel adapter from the MPI website, and what a difference that made but, it came at a sacrifice, because i had to murder my wheel to use it, essentially had to take the wheel off down to the base, i was able to use a few buttons still on the wheel but i ended up getting a button box to solve my issue and that added about 2 pounds of weight to the wheel which made it much feel much more solid, i was never a fan of the way the FFB worked on the logitch wheel either so when i got the mpi i only used it a small amount, but over about 6 months of use the wheel developed alot of play, just from wear and tear, and the MPI mod i made to it just sped up the process. Now i want to touch on the pedals, the pedals suck, and theres no other way to out it, after alot of trial and error i decided to just individually solid mound the pedals and that helped for a bit, but i still just struggled with applying the breaks, eventually i decided to build myself a hanging pedal bracket and initally it was awesome but i realized that the break pedal itself is just junk, so i migrated to using the clutch pedal for breaks and it was a HUGE improvement, but as the play in the wheel got worse and worse i got an opportunity to buy a CSL Elite with pedals and a racing wheel from my friend for $350 and i have nothing but incredible things to say about this wheel, it has improved my iracing experience tenfold! The pedals are nicer, the wheel is nicer to hold, the feel in general is more responsive, more customizable, and just better in general! i recommend Fanitech to anyone who plans on racing alot

"These wheels are all within the same price range about 400 USD"....mentioned on KZfaq. The real price: The CSL Elite as shown in the video 699 USD, the Logitech G923 is 367 USD for PS5/4 and 243 USD for Xbox One, the Thrustmaster T300 RS is 399 USD. So this video is about 2/3 correct. Here in Portugal, seems like we get cheaper logitech components while thrustmaster is definitely pricier. Heck, when the G29 launched i waited a few months on black friday i got the wheel for 225 euros(265USD), shifter 50 euros(59USD). The logitech T300rs stayed at the same price 399 euros(470USD) pretty much until about 2 years ago where it finally had a price drop. Oh and black friday was a joke, it always remained at the same price despite black friday. And that was the basic T300rs with the pedals without clutch. The one with clutch was 100 euros(118USD) more. And the thrustmaster shifter was 149euros(176USD). Which means, the G29 which comes with clutch and the added shifter i paid 275 euros(207USD) If i wanted the same equipments but from thrustmaster i would have paid 648 euros(765,77USD) That's more than triple the price. And before buying it i heard people complaining about loose force feedback when hot, problems with the wheel while logitech just seemed solid. Had a Logitech Formula Force EX which served me really well and was very pleased about the quality. So, in 2016 in black friday i saw a G29 at a reasonable good price and i just couldn't help it, limited offer too. After a lot of research and talking to people online, which i still have nightmares about fanboysm i settled with the G29 and never had a singke problem whatsoever with the wheel and pedals. I did have problems with the shifter but a warranty of 2 years, logitech were forced to give me a new one to a defect. I was extremely happy with my purchase back then and the expression bang for your buck certainly applies here. Hell, i have a feeling this thing will survive 50 years with everyday use.

I have owned G29, T300RS and Fanatec Clubsport 2.5. Thrustmaster wins. I went from G29 to Clubsport but had to have the clubsport wheel replaced within a month then the base repaired a month after that......so poor quality. Then got the T300RS and has been great. Also the constant beta firmware updates with fanatec that are recommended drive me crazy. T300RS I installed once and never look back. G29 was good entry level but noisy and weak. I have kept the CSL pedals with loadcell though which can work with T300RS via USB.

@@SnD340 i went for the ts-xw, and i really like it. It feels like a t300 on steroids basically. Very similiar feeling, but faster, stronger, more responsive, and more precise. I can definitely recommend this wheel, if you like the feeling of thrustmaster force feedback. As for what to go for in your shoes, i can't say for sure. I would probably go for a bigger upgrade, so ts-xw, or csl dd. T300 is also a great wheel, don't get that wrong. Csl dd will be the most expensive, but also probably will give you the best force feedback. Definitely get the stronger power supply, if you go for csl dd. For me, i'm very happy with the ts-xw, and don't see needing an upgrade anytime soon. Also one thing to consider is pedals. I use the t-lcm load cell pedals, and they were a huge upgrade from the t-3pa pedals. Load cell brake opens alot of lap time, since you can be way more precise, and consistent with your braking.

Plus side to that is you can find ts xw or ts pc servo base's in the 400 dollar range if you already have thrustmaster wheels and pedals. Another plus is sim racing gear seems to hold its value quite well. I see g29's and t150's listed at 70-80% of the brand new price. There's is a lot of good deals out there if you look and wait patiently. I got lucky with mine, found a t300rs with conquer cockpit, It was listed for 300 then lowered to 250 so jumped on it. I see similar set up going for double that. I found a set of tlcm pedals for 179 on amazon open box and then got fanatec shifter which was the most expensive thing I got actually lol. If I happen to find a fanatec elite, fanatec csw 2.5 or even a t gt base come up for sale for a good price IL jump on it but if not I will eventually upgrade to a fanatec csl elite dd pro for ps4. Maybe some other affordable dd bases will come out before then bit for now my t300 is great. Definitely a superior wheel to any logitech.

Nah the trueforce is the main difference which he fails to mention. It’s not supported by all games but those that do you get a much more immersive feeling from the wheel. You can literally feel the engine vibrate when you rev the car. It’s pretty significant but I assume he didn’t play any game that supports trueforce and then obviously it doesn’t feel different from a g920…

Great video. This reflects just about everything I have read about each of these wheels. Of the 3, I want the CSL. I already have a set of CSL pedals with the loadcell brake kit. Great pedals! But I am not so keen on spending $600 for the current CSL base and wheel combinations from Fanatec. Even though the Porsche steering wheel is nice and bundled with the wheel base, its a good deal. I just think the price is a little too high for my comfort. I guess spending an additional $150 for a CSW and the rally wheel as a starter rim.

I went from the g29 to the CSL Elite last fall (Black Friday to be exact). Firstly - I managed to sell my g29 for just less than I bought it for (got it in a very good sale) - so you should consider whether you can get money for your old wheel (100-ish?). The upgrade is amazing and the proof for me is that in the previous year I'd probably played 60 hours of AC. Since last fall - say 6 months - I have played over 5 times that in AMS2 and Raceroom. The CSL Elite is mounted on my original GTOmega wheel stand - so your current mounting will likely still work - no need for a very expensive mounting solution like you would if going with a DD wheel. My racing skills have improved massively and my enjoyment has gone through the roof. Yes it's quite expensive, but amazing bang-for-buck. I went with the P1 wheel for greatest versatility (I play Truck Simulator and Dirt Rally games, too.) I play in VR so I don't care whether the wheel 'looks right' as I can't see it anyway :) I love it.

I never had any of the thrustmaster or logitech wheels. But my csl is insanely good. The power is frankly scary and should be more than enough for anyone(the first time you test it it's like the exorcist possessed the wheel.) and the force feedback is so deep and subtle. It's brilliant. The pedals are good I agree, but I actually think you could probably just get the thurstmaster pedals instead, so long as you got the CSL wheel. The wheel is the crucial part. (I also ended up getting the shifter and handbrake, that's who impressed I am by the quality of Fanatec's stuff. It all has that lovely weight thing where it feels expensive because it's so heavy and all the materials are made of steel and are rock solid.)

You’re going to get better performance with the Thrustmaster.. but keep in mind it’s a belt system , so with many hours of use there is a chance that it may run you problems. For example my T300 will give out its force feedback randomly at times, I read online that it could be the motor giving out. Not to mention the shifter is $250 if you’re going with thrust. Logitech G923 you’re going to get a quality wheel that will last , and they fixed the brakes from the G920 so they’re not bad at all now with a proper setup.

Now that I have a PS5 and I'm waiting for GT7, I don't know if I should go for the T300RS now and risk being a gen behind if Thrustmaster releases a new wheel alongside of GT7, or if should wait and see and in the meantime buy a G923 to play GT Sport (here in Mexico the G923 is about 40% of the price of the T300RS GT kit). G920 user here, have to say that the gear driven logitech wheels just do not cut it. You will be left wanting more, it's a good wheel to learn on but it is not a satisfactory lifetime use wheel IMO. The steering is not smooth really at all and, again in my opinion feels nothing like a real car (purely in terms of smoothness) The force feedback and response is good, it's just that one thing that leaves me not being able to recommend this to anyone. I can't comment on trueforce though, everything else about the wheel mechanically is the same as the g920. g923 +shifter in Poland new 277 USD with superb Brake pedal . T300 with shifter 552 USD without pedal upgrade to better than g923 Fanatec hard to get in Europe ,Just the base is more expensive than t300. After owning G27 , would like an upgrade .Would try T300 but still way more expensive and does not have the great pedals.Then heard about fanatec ,but boy for the extra money for fanatec without clutch and shifter I could have a nice 5.1 Home Cinema (great upgrade for more realism ) I think if you looking for good most budget wheel as sim wheel etc , also for drifting , shifter and clutch is a must ,seems you cant find cheaper wheel for that price and purpose . Only worth mentioning is what sometimes can be a problem ,when using G series late nights or when share a room with somebody ,they can be really loud . Especially when using strong FF (lot of people dont like high FF) or drifting on 900* . Fanatec is for fanatics that use them all the time ,especially in sims and dont mind spending a lot money for sim rig . If you new to virtual racing ,I would suggest try cheaper wheel and see if you will get into it .But if go from controller ,or mouse racing ,you will end up for relative cheap money totally in new world . You wont regret G series .Thrustmaster also . I would keep away from used wheels .Only from good source or from somebody you know. Anyways If you want better experience from g29 the price to experience is getting really high
