Hi. Does it work with EXE, COM, XEX, XFD, DCM, ATR, ATX, CAS, BAS formats?Does it work with zipped formats mentioned above? Only ROM format? Thank you!

The Ultimare 1MB cart only support ROM or CAR files, look at my other vidoes on the SIDE2, UNO or AVG carts they can do ROM/CAR but also .XEX (exe & com can be renamed to xex), and ATR files (XFD/DCM need to be converted to ATR), there is no Cart that support CAS yet..

the Ultimate does not support ATR files, only Cartridges ROM images or Atari executable files (XEX), check my other videos for the SIDE2 cartridge and 4MB Flash Megacart they support ATR's and i show there how to use them with Multiple disks games

The US 600XL version only has RF out to old TVs.. If you got the 600XL computer you cab connect it to the Amtenna input using a simple RCA to RF canle and scan for the channel that the Atari broadcast

It would be nice if someone actually sold stuff like this. Many people are demonstrating stuff like this, but NO ONE IS ACTUALLY SELLING COMPLETE CARTRIDGES!

Any composite to HDMI would work. You need din-to-composite cable and the converter. There are tons of them on eBay or Amazon. Or if you have a tv with a composite input it's even simpler.

But there is no way to use it as storage as a Drive on the Ultimate correct? Aka - it will not do what the Side2 can do?

For someone totally new to all this, I've only been able to find random games in the correct format inside an Ultimate Cart thread (thanks to some gracious people). Nothing in the AtariMania package seems to be in the right format and there is very little information about converting the formats. What little info I do see assumes I have all kinds of hardware I don't have for sorting to and reading back from cartridges, Windows PC linked to the Atari, etc. Got any advice to those of us trying to feel our way through this? Take Missile Command, for example. How do I get Missile Command into my cart in a playable way when there is no .rom, .bin, or .car in the AtariMania collection?

The Modern Atari 8bit computer Yeah, thanks, but that's the "gracious" thread I was talking about, but it's pretty random what you can get from there. I used Missile Command as an example because that was where I found it when I wanted to test my CX80 Trak-Ball but the AtariMania's 6+ ROMs were all in the wrong format. As for googling: yeah, that's how I got the AtariMania ROM set and many other individual game ROMs. The issue is that the ROMs I find are generally not in the right format anywhere. Yes, there is the ROM to CAR utility, but the ROMs I find are generally not raw ROM/BIN dump formats either. IOW, they aren't even in the right format for the tools intended to make them the right format. Doh! When I look up how to convert the formats I do find I see instructions telling you to copy things to or from various Atari peripherals, requiring hardware that I don't have and are not familiar with. I do not have a flash cart, disk drive, tape drive, SIO adapter, etc and the Ultimate Cart was supposed to be my shortcut to using my systems without all that. :) Thanks to that thread I have plenty to work with but now I'm just looking for the tools I'd need to make something akin to SmokeMonster's Everdrive packs.

Atari 8K & 16K cartridge ROMS should be a raw dump format, unless a header was added to them and the file name should be renamed to .CAR, the Ultimate SD Card will handle raw 8k & 16k without the need to convert them or add a header.. in your case Missile Command is an 8K Rom (8192 bytes long)

Is it true that the 8-bit Atari cartridge games don't differentiate between NTSC and Pal?

No.. But in PAL machines they run a bit slower.. 50hz vs 60hz

delatroy games that are written in the US are designrd and tested on 60hz.. But the will work on 50hz machine.. But not all games that where written in Europe will run on 60hz machines
