Neil, the reason the drag truck pulled to the left is something called Torque Pull. When you have enough power (its even more pronounced with a limited slip), the car will pull to one side.

People underestimate steer angle in a drift... Power is only part of the equation... Traction is another part ( good stiff suspension and sticky tires is another) and steer angle... The more angle you can get with the wheel the more leeway u have with the drift...
