I'm a beginner and I am discovering all of Marty's lessons and tips now in 2023. I follow my guitar teachers lesson plans and I take Marty's lessons and use them as supplemental lessons. I am learning much faster, Awesome tips.

I wish guitar teaches on KZfaq would call out the note name instead of the fret number. We can see the fret and know what number it is. Not everyone knows the note name but would start to figure it out easier when the instructor calls the note as opposed to the fret. I always found a difficult when an instructor says OK now play 0030. Instead of saying play EEGE on your low E string. I’m not trying to be a little dick or anything. I just think it would be so much easier for people to learn music theory, even when they’re not trying to learn music theory, and intern, become better guitar players..
