@@SeanKaleponi I asked my bro and he told me they were around $7.50, which he said was considered a lot then. Teri chicken plate was same as now, with Mac salad scoop rice and a little veggie mix, was so ono. Soda was separate too like now.

Aloha Sean! Finally catching up with KZfaq. Wow the chicken at Waikane Store looks so good and such friendly people. I love Uncle Bo's in Kapahulu but never tasted the North Shore location. The boca rota is my fav there. Love Jamaican jerk chicken and sad that they closed their location. And I thought Ribs and Broth was also outstanding pho + Shay's = bomb. Aloha, Sean & Nhi... You both did an amazing job showcasing these merchants! Well done! The details of all of the food were fantastic not to mention the awesome eating LOL! There are some items that I never tried before like the Taro Andagi at Uncle Bo's and the Jamaican Oxtail in Wahiawa. Now on my list. Just an fyi to try one day, in Pearl City near Walmart and across the 7-11 there is a Huli Huli chicken wagon called POPOLO Boys. What is unique is that his Huli Chicken has a slight hint of Jerk seasoning in it. His wagon is pretty popular but not there every day. And now returning to Wahiawa, I think of Shige's Saimin. I like how you re-highlight & revisit these past places. (Definitely, one of the best old school Cheeseburgers on Oahu). Look forward to the next episode. Mahalo Plenty!

Amazing places you went to. Never knew about those funnel cakes. Always thought you could only get them at carnivals and fairs. I think I saw Chicken in a Barrel on Kauai, but I never tried it. Didn't know what I was missing. Good thing I'm not too far away.

Hi Sean & Nhi! Love that you show & support local businesses! All the food looks so great! I am going to try the taro beignets & that chicken in barrel when I visit in October. Sean, Aloha from one loco boy in Seattle, WA. Watching your North Shore grinds. Saw the picture of people jumping off the big rock in Waimea Bay. Did you know at one time, long ago, there’s a hole that goes through the rock? We used dive or jump off the rock, swim underwater from one side to the other. Don’t know if da puka is still there. Check it out next you go Waimea. Aloha.

Wow!!! 129 years, impressive. Will definitely stop by on our next visit. Night Marcher looks so good, but from the look of your face, I’ll try the other delicious items on the menu. Frozen Ice Cream Babana would be awesome. Nhi is so cute shaking her head behind the Taro Beignets. Mm…..Honey toasted corn Bread. Can’t wait to sink my teeth into that Oxtail. You are absolutely correct, the kitchen at Waikane Store is exactly how a kitchen that cooks local delicious food should look. You can see a lot of good food is cooked on those stoves. I have to try that place. The chicken looks amazing. And forget Netflix, you need your own Cooking Channel show!!! And now I have to try the Night Marcher. My mouth was watering just seeing it. ALL of that poke looked too good to be true. And set me up for that Triple Play Funnel Cake!!!! Diet? I don't believe in them when I'm on vacation. The lady at Kuilima farms with the bananas was adorable!!! I have to try that banana lumpia and the spicy mango. We did try Jenny's Shrimp Truck and Giovanni's on our last visit to North Shore, but now we have to try Big Wave. To be honest, I need to spend a couple of days in North Shore to try all of the great food. I almost fell over when I saw the plates at Uncle Bo's. WOW. Chicken in a Barrel looks awesome. They really have attention to detail with the barrels and temperature. Unfortunately, the CA location is in Lake Tahoe so that would be a 10 hour drive. I'd rather have it in Oahu anyway. I'm a big fan of jerk chicken, so you've won me over with Jr's. And the ox tails would definitely be on my plate. The ox tail with rice looks perfect. As for the jerk chicken, I love it the darker the better. I love food where I have to lick my fingers after. And always remember to share the ribs and broth. Don't hog the ribs. And I couldn't believe the size of that rib!!! the Nem Nuong really got my attention. That's on my try list as well. And to top it off, you knocked me out of my chair with Shays ube pancakes. I'm going to crave those until I return in February. And I agree about the pizza crust, but it still looked amazing with the toppings. With all that food you try, I can only imagine your work-out schedule.

I recently went to Northshore and tried garlic shrimp from ten different trucks. My overall favorite was Jenny’s! It had the best flavor and freshest shrimp. Safe to say I’m done with garlic shrimp for a while. 😆

Jrs Jamaican ricks close last year i was devastated and had to make my own oxtails. They had had the most authentic food and my family is Jamaican so it felt like my grandma made it.

Aloha Sean. We tried out Jenny’s off your recommendation and it was worth it. We also tried out Peruvian Corner Hawaii next door to Jenny’s and they’re definitely worth a try. They had really good Peruvian ceviche.

I guess that just means we have to go back there The poke place looks just as good, one question Sean, was the 3 point shot you made a one take shot or several tries?
