I don't usually post but I think if people are going to criticize you for putting labels on containers, then they have too much time on their hands. What is the downside? You are not forcing them to do that. Labels are extremely helpful.

I love the labels on containers! I have an ADHD spouse, so he likes having labels. As for our pantry, I reuse jars for storage, making my own labels using DT items and a paint pen. I spray paint the lids so they are all the same color. I love the way they look all lined up in my pantry!

Great job organizing the refrig, just a heads up , our appliance man told us to be aware of not blocking the vent that’s on the inside back wall because the fan is located behind the vent and when blocked it causes the motor to work harder because of the lack of circulation. I love the idea of prepping veggies ahead of time for so many reasons. Thanks for sharing, always enjoy your videos….

So satisfying! You could put a very small label on the front of the shelf where you are storing leftovers so that everybody knows that they go there. I also love using that paper towel trick, especially after I’ve washed strawberries or raspberries to take to work for my lunch. I also put them on the top of my big container of salad greens, and then I flip the whole container over so the paper towels are on the bottom and can catch that moisture.

just a hint to increase your space in your fridge. Pancake syrup, maple syrup, ketchup, mustard, pickles and hot sauces all can be kept in a dark pantry or cupboard. None of them require refrigeration. Also honey can be kept indefinitely out of the fridge.

Hey, great before and after. I did this method several years ago and it is still working beautifully. My sister loved it and tried it at her home too. It really does keep you organized. I just used DollarTree bins but I'm loving your clear ones

Once veggies go,soggy make soup. Spinach can go in freezer for add on to most stir fry smoothies or sauces. Yogurt doesn’t expire till mould. Milk isn’t bad till it tastes off and often can be used for cooking at that point. But American milk might be different. Can also freeze cheese. I have more space in Fridge than feeder cause I freeze most things

Thank you for keeping it real and including the area for leftovers. My son is diabetic so he has his own drawer with his prepped baggies of portioned veggies and fruits, yogurt, applesauce. It just makes it easier to grab.

Several years ago I discovered clear containers. They are terrific. I have a small fridge so I did not need to label them but think it's a good idea.

Honestly, labeling would remind ME to put things back where they belong - as well as my husband and any family who might be visiting. I think they are great! 👍🏻

I cleaned our fridge a few weeks ago and always recommend to throw some baking soda on everything that needs extra scrubbing. Works wonders and is always save to use.

I recently bought reusable chalk pen stickers. You put them on containers and can wipe off and redo the writing. They work great and stay stuck even after the dishwasher. I've put them on my containers shelves and drawers and update them when needed.

Yes! Getting rid of excess packaging is so helpful in this particular chore.

I have never thought of vacuuming my fridge! Good idea.

I have my refrigerator set up similar to yours. It really helps to have a leftover area. We are all right handed so I put our vegetable bin on the right so we see them first. I label the refrigerator so everyone puts items back where they found them.

We use a dry erase marker to put a date on the leftovers. It helps us know how long we’re had it. Plus it comes off when you wash the glass container.

I love organization and your rationale was perfectly reasonable, IMO. When my 5 kids were living at home I had to LEARN QUICK to make it easy for them if I didn’t want to have chaos constantly. I protected my mental health by doing things that worked for me and THEM. Like towels for instance... wet towels lying on the floor or the carpet or a bed and of course NO ONE will own it... I fixed this by taking them to the store and having them pick a ribbon... I proceeded home... and I made hanging loops out of their ribbon for their specific towels and wash cloths and then explained to them the consequences if I found any weta towels anywhere. They said what if someone uses mine.... so I went on to explain washing and drying the butt crack (🤣) and of anyone wants to wash and dry with what’s been on someone else’s butt crack then have at it. If you see your loops... you better pick them up.🤣🤣🤣

Well done!! The lables are a great idea for a family fridge ❤ I have several containers in my fridge as well - and just added a couple for my sprouting seeds (most in 2oz spice jars!!) A friend who's diabetic used 2 lidded veggie trays with compartments for her prepped veggies and fruit so she'd have easy healthy snacks! She'd refill compartments after her snack! Another option for the bottoms of treasures would be reusable bamboo towells!!

Love the labels when they have a purpose (I'm not a fan when a laundry room is labelled with "laundry"-really, I wouldn't have known otherwise). But when you have a family that just shoves everything on the front middle shelf of a pantry or fridge, the labels really help keep things neater. What font did you use for these labels? Was it from cricut or dafont?

Nicely done. We use labels on our fridge bins too. I just bought blanks from Amazon that I write on neatly with a sharpie.

This is way more realistic than most fridge organizing video's. Your fridge is more than twice the size of my fridge though 😀. And please use your labels if you want. People who critisize you just have way too much time on their hands.

All the shelves that are eye level I put snack packs which are cut up food ready to pull out of the fridge and eat immediately. My leftovers are mixed in as well that way if when I open it I don’t know if I’m getting something fresh or a leftover but it’s the exact portion that I need to eat.

If you're big berry eaters I picked up these small plastic storage containers from Dollarama I think...they come with a strainer & lid & hold the small raspberry/blueberry containers. Whats nice is you just pour them in, rinse them, lightly shake out the water & put the lid on & in the fridge. This way everyone knows they are already washed & ready to eat. They keep pretty well too. Also...I no longer store my garlic fresh. I peel the cloves & store them all in the freezer. I havent found any difference except its easier & they dont get mouldy.

I am not a rep, but I highly recommend the Tupperware fridge mates for fruits and veggies. They keep stuff fresh a long time, less waste.

I Label lots and lots of things. Makes my life easier. I even put a strip of painters tape on leftovers with the date and use permanent marker ( easier to see ) when leftovers are gone I just pull off the painters tape.

Labels are a good idea. In commercial kitchens, opened and prepared foods are labeled at least with the date it was opened/prepared with another date on when they should be thrown out. You can also extend the life of the veggies with a quick pickling. My kids love quick pickled cucumbers

For that tiny bit of OJ left I would do what is called “shelf cooking.” Anything that is getting closer to the expiration date I take and use up together. I would use that last bit OJ in say a marinade. A professional executive chef my ex boyfriend was friends with gave us a tip one time. He said to put a little bit of OJ in your scrambled eggs. It makes them a tiny bit sweet and makes them more brilliant orange color and pretty.

I've never seen nor heard of anyone vacuuming their fridge! Can't say I would. Nice organizing. I tried labels long ago, living with someone, he would not follow through. Obviously one reason he's not in my life anymore! 🙌 😁! Best wishes for healthier eating!

Love fridge and organization

Great timing as I’m cleaning my fridge tomorrow. One tip I have is that I use a vintage Parmesan cheese shaker (but you can get them new too) to keep my baking sofa for the fridge in. The big holes let the baking powder do it’s work and it looks prettier than a box of bp in the fridge. 😊

I have used wet erase markers to label too. that way if the use of the container changes the maker comes off with water.

I can relate to your 'before', looks a lot like my refrigerator. I like the idea of bins and of prepping veggies. I'd be more apt to eat them. What do you think about lining the shelves with silicon liners or vinyl to combat messy spills or leaks?

Very nice job. It looks good !! I actually use one of the drawers for my meats, so that way it's all in one place, makes it easy. Same with all types of cheeses, even Cream Cheese. ..its all in one place . My Refrigerator is set up a bit different, its an older model of Jenn- Air. I keep certain condiments in a basket that's clear ,so I can just take the whole thing out if needed. ( Mayonnaise ,etc. The door area isn't cold enough ). 🙂😊 I love that you label things, I've done it for DECADES. ( I'm older, lol. )

I love the layout of your refrigerator. What brand is it and where did you get it from?

I must say that I see other tubers use vacuums for the fridge too but I could never do it. Vacuums are too dirty and dusty that I don’t want it around food. Wiping is good enough for me.

My 19 year old son did the exact same thing with the OJ container today. Doesn’t matter the age Christina. 🤣

I usually go grocery shopping every 2 week so I don’t over buy food and it helps me to keep on track with what I have and what I need, also I don’t waste much. When I purchase my fruits 🍏🍓🍇🍉🍅and vegetables 🥕 🥦🌽🥬🥒🫑 I like to wash them with vinegar before I placed them on my fridge and them place then on containers also. It is a lot easier when I’m cooking 🧑‍🍳 I just grab what I need.

I do label my clear drawers. I want to make sure meat goes into the meat drawer because of possible leakage. I want to make sure no one eats the dog food in its drawer. And when drawers are empty I can easily see and replenish items as needed.

Everything needs washing prior to eating or opening (cans/jars etc), but if you chop veggies like broccoli or cauliflower in advance you can wash them just before you cook or eat them. This helps preserve them a little longer. Obviously I you can't do that with courgette or aubergine so they have to be prepared at the time you want to use them......unless there is a way of pre cutting and storing them I don't know about.....if so, please share 😉

Do you turn it off first? I always do bc especially the freezer is easier. Also I hate hearing the alarm like your fridge just made!😂

I pull my tea wagon up to the fridge so don't have to keep going back and forth to the counters while emptying the fridge
