Not much you can do to prevent the ghost cav bug other than hoping it doesn't happen. I think saving and reloading the battle breaks them out of it at least.

It is the single thing that aggravates me most on this game. Not only because it's a cheesy thing, but because if you dont pay attention all artillery will turn to them.

@@pandakraut8594 yep, truly an evil bug. Almost as bad as me playing Malvern Hill yesterday, dominating and forgetting to press record on OBS.
