Love your riding area ! Not too rocky in the flatlands. Your little single track loop looks super fun and fast. 😊 And the Gaerne boots, it is my only boot that l trust off road.

it is all about feel, i would advise all riders to go with feel - not opinion, get weights correct and then test, adjust, test, adjust, test, adjust, THEN make internal changes and return to the same testing ground - stopwatch and feel/comfort will not lie.

I have a 24 350 XCF. I have the same set up (also in AZ).Had my stock stuff revalved by AEO and then ended up buying the cone valve and Trax shock so I can take it bike to bike (I get a new bike every year). The A kit stuff is just more stable at high speed and inspires you to push harder. The bottoming resistance on CV and Trax is unreal. Both are great…. But of course the A kit stuff is better.

Yeah being able to pull your A Kit off your old bike and put on the new bike makes the cost more reasonable over time! The 350 is such a good bike!

@@56DannyF56 I'll look forward to seeing that. I have a '17 300 XC, with the 1st generation of the air fork, and I hated the fork. I had it reworked and updated to 2018 specs, it was a little better but I still hated it, so I bought a used Ohlins fork and shock and got those redone for my weight, skill level and terrain, and like them fine. The shock is just a smidge better than the redone stock shock, but the fork is WAY better for me (riding trails and enduros in tight woods in the Southern US). But I'm always curious to know about other setups.

You should try the JBI leaf style mid valve for the cone valve!

Have you compared the Ohlins with the cone? I’d be Interested if you liked them better for your desert racing.

It has been awhile since I've looked into Ohlins or had anyone I know run them. 5-10 years ago a few guys I rode with were sponsored by Ohlins and did not speak highly of them. They may be better today but I haven't seen anyone out west run them in awhile. I'd like to try them to find out. I do hear the BlackJack fork by MX Tech is amazing. You can get the inserts and drop them into the stock fork tubes. I have briefly ridden a 300XC with the inserts and they felt great. Dal Soggio inserts are rumored to be even better (for enduro/rocks) but I have zero experience riding them.

@@56DannyF56 I recently bought a set and they are amazing however I don’t have your knowledge into it to compare them. My other bike has gold valves but set up for hard enduro and don’t hold the feel of stability like the Ohlins. Thanks for your response, and a great video.

Did you re set your sag for each fork? Since the cv had a shorter over All length On my experience and testing I have found the same.. CV can be great but always felt it’s better if I’m racing and set for a specific terrain. But not a good trail ride fork or as versatile as a shim fork. Stock is good. Way better revalve. But lacks that at speed confidence

My Cone Valves are the same length as the stock 24 KTM XC forks so I didn't have any issues with different length forks. Good point on checking the sag though. I'd like to see if there is a difference in rider sag between the two.

@@56DannyF56 Just curious - how is that possible? As Ive understood it the forks are longer on the new chassi...
