This has its place, mainly convenience. But you're right, if it goes down at a gig you won't have a backup... or the backup is an entire rig in itself 😬

Here is something to consider about the onboard fx processor, it should not be considered your primary source of tones for a live venue; rather it should be used more for use with a recording interface for song writing in your home studio when you are laying down tracks or with headphones when working on new material so that you do not annoy everyone with the fumbling noodles that are involved in such processes. For a live show I would still use an analog pedal board because it is far easier to replace a single pedal on the board than it is to replace the processor in the guitar. I am certain that the built in modeler is using very close recreations of some of the top and most commonly used pedals so developing your tone for recording and replicating it with an analog rig for touring shouldn't be a huge issue and then you could use the onboard as backup should your touring rig falter during a performance. I would not utilize this instrument's processor as the primary for live shows night after night. Thankfully, they were cognizant of the possibility of failure and made it so the guitar can be used passively with normal amplifiers and FX boards. Now here is an even crazier concept for a jetsetter rig, take the GTRS line of guitars with the controller and wireless receiver and add the Laney Ironheart Foundry Loud Pedal 60 watt amplifier to the gigbag and you have everything needed but a cabinet. Better yet if you wanted a totally plug free go anywhere rig add a Yamaha THR 30ii rechargeable amplifier to your local backpacking rig and you could play in the park, on the street corner, or local tea house. The onboard processor should be only for those instances when dragging a professional touring pedal board or rack system around is too cumbersome and impractical for the occasion.

You have to disable the onboard amp modeling or at least the cab sim in your presets
