👋 About Me: I am Dayo Clinckspoor, an award-winning filmmaker and photographer from Belgium (Ghent). I made the decision to leave everything behind for a while, aiming to live with less, without comfort, and challenging myself creatively on an endless road trip while documenting the journey. Every 2 weeks or so, I upload a new video, creating them from my trusty Land Rover Discovery 2, which serves as my living space. It's almost like living the van life dream, but in a much more compact and intimate way ;)

First comment you just told the world your secret compartment and what's in it , second comment when people are overlanding/camping all you have is time to relax & do nothing so settling up camp or your tent is part of the adventure , I just bought a 04 D2 that was in a front-end wreck I'm rebuilding and looking at different people builds I don't think your fridge too big it's better than being too small but it better to have a dual zone fridge that one can be a freezer or second fridge for keeping things colder that you don't open as much , I also have a 07 lr3 that also a awesome rover that I'm building but the D2 has old school features like soild axles front and rear no air suspension nice but I do like it on my lr3 anyway nice build

Why didn’t you have the tent coming out over the back door? I find it gives coverage for rear door functions while cooking etc. I also have an annex for the tent which provides a private enclosed space. My awning on the side has a floored room that I can quickly attach. My shower/toilet annex completes the accommodation. I like your living in the car concept but prefer my tent (similar to yours) rather than be inside the car but I do have a board arrangement that sits on top of the centre storage boxes that I can quickly set up if the weather is too severe. 👍🏻🙏🦘

Don't sell it. I had a little less time, I had to work a lot. I'm a truck driver, I'm on the road a lot and I thought it was unnecessary. but I regretted it many times. now I can start over, I have to find another one, I can buy, build a new one, etc. if its maintenance is not a big problem, don't sell it. it's not just a car, it's a feeling of life. and it suits you very well.

@@DayoClinckspoor Mines a 2003 Disco. The rear is gutted. Built some units and stuff in there but it doesn't work particularly well. Planning on redoing it over the winter. We use a ground tent so plenty of room for storage on the rack. I'm so clumsy I'd undoubtedly fall out of a roof tent! Have you done any outside mods to your Disco? It all obviously works very well for you. Curious as to how many Kms you have covered. TD5 is a great motor if it's looked after.

the only room there is, is the dimention of the matras folded. for the sake of the video I think I took the matras out of the car. to show that space. in reality I switch from laying the matras where it is suppose to to sleep, and than I can sit in the car next to it, because the room is open, where the matras is usually stored and folded. do you get it? :)@@Terry-zs4ir

We have a ARB rooftop tent on our D2 for when we’re traveling yes it can be a faff to set up sometimes, but after your in the routine you can have it fully setup in 5 minutes and down in the same as we leave the bedding up there. We have a bed setup / little living area in the back of our D2 but will always favor the tent as to the comfort, the space, the views and more importantly the convenience of just being able to just having a larger living space while on the road. Might just be us but couldn’t go back from having one while overlanding. We always have a Quechua ground tent stored away incase there’s somewhere we want to stay that isn’t accessible by road, but would choose the roof tent any day over that.
