The circle part was very confusing as you said go out 10 blocks, but in the shot showing the finished circle it has a radius of 13. Edit: after 20 minutes of confusion, I have realized that in the video, the scaffolding is NOT in the center of the circle. The actual radius of the circle is 15 blocks from the scaffold, assuming you put it in the center. This is easier to see later in the video, but if you are following the video step by step its a recipe for confusion. Also building the campfires so early into the build makes building the iron golems area unnecessarily annoying if you are doing this in survival.

it doesn't really matter how far out you go cause you will build the circle the same size anyways, and its not like the placement of the scaffolding matters since you can pretty much put it anywhere it only matters if you want to build it in exactly one spot

@@maisaanmufeed438 The distance you go from the start doesn't matter. If you listen closely he said "about" ten. I believe his reason for this is that when you start the circle, it will hopefully be within the zone you cleared out. If you follow his pattern, regardless if you went 10 blocks out or 1 block out, the circle will still be the same size, you just want it to be within the zone you cleared out. if you marked a general center block and cleared out a radius around that, but then when you start building you only went 1 block out instead of 10, you'd still have the same circle, it would just be off-center of zone you cleared and you'd likely have to clear out more trees and/or dirt,

A good way to spawn proof the farm is to use brown mushrooms. They give out a light level of 1 and covering the spawning area with brown mushrooms might be a more efficient method than using redstone torches. I personally used brown mushrooms in my farm (same principle but different design) and I can say it's been working very well so far.

@@Bloonsmonki You definitely don't need a witch farm to get the small amount of redstone for torches here. Moreover brown mushrooms are optimal for rates since they provide the minimum light level (swamp slimes spawns are light-dependent) and don't obstruct spawning. For Bedrock users, use full Blocks instead of Slabs. Apparently, light will go through Slabs in BE version (IDK why). You can also use the Black-Tinted Glass Block on top/side of the farm as it doesn't let light through. The base of the farm has to be either Dirt Blocks or Soild Blocks. For Java users, you're fine. I hope this helps. If anyone has issue(s), just comment here and I'll try to help.

To avoid the golem being damaged, I made the hole 9x9 (= golem at the center, so go out 4 blocks in horizontal direction). As for the vertical direction, I made sure there are 2 gaps between the golem stands and the surface of the spawn platform. Thus, I raised the ceiling of the spawn platform 4 blocks tall so that the slime has light of sight to the golem. As far as the hopper minecart & rail collection system, there is no need to use so many power rails. Also, there is no need to build a circle. I built a square of 25x25. I put tinted glass on the ceiling (not on the side walls), this way I can see what's going on while AFK from above. Spawn platform y = 68 (feet), AFK y = 188 (feet), AFK exactly 1 hour (3 day-night cycles moon phase- waxing gibbous, full moon, waning gibbous) got 27 stacks of slime balls (= 1728 items), game play difficulty is normal, local difficulty starts at 2.67 end at 3.75. I am quite happy with the results. Thanks for the tutorial.

The farm is great and works very well, however this tutorial is very confusing. I noticed a lot of comments around the block number for the circle. May I suggest an updated tutorial? I too had trouble with the actual layer but after putting the vid in slow motion and counting the blocks I was able to figure it out. Otherwise great farm!!

If it helps, I've had the same issue. In the video the scaffold isn't centered in the circle, and the number of blocks you are told to build is different then the number placed in the video. Start building the circle 15 blocks from your scaffold (if it is to be the center) and things should line up.
@monywon

For reference the radius of the circle is 31 blocks; you should use a Minecraft circle generator

they should seriously rework Slime chunks, because having to go to an external website just to find them is terrible game design, not to mention how important they are in redstone builds. They can either make slime semi-biomes, where there would be like a green lit atmosphere, maybe add special slime stalagmites or carpets to make it clear to the player.
@godofportal5905
@godofportal5905 10 ай бұрын
maybe a compass with 3 redstone, 2 slimeballs, and 4 iron ( i may be overpricing this) you could make a slimechunk locator, just to find the nearest slime chunk, just a random idea i had.

I see a few comments suggesting lowering the afk platform by 3 blocks but that actually allows the slime to spawn below the platform if its not properly litted (light level 7 and above)

Why are your videos always 18:34 exactly? Its incredibly specific and there's very few videos that are more or less than that specific amount of time.

@@BaritoneMonkey I think it's on purpose to draw out retention time for his videos. It feels like he stuffs way too much information, relevant or not, into a video. I am an expert in minecraft so obviously if someone is not a veteran like me, then they might not know everything about the given subject and they learn something new when they didn't expect to. Like in his Cherry Tree video he takes like a minute to explain that leaves can be waterlogged and that they are fireproof and explosion proof, and someone I showed the video to didn't previously know that waterlogged leaves were explosion proof. So obviously eyecraft knows what he's doing and it's working.

@@SmartAlekI'm sure you're right. I don't mind it myself, though. He does a great job with comprehensive, longer-form content and his voice is really relaxing to listen to, so I don't mind if he pads a bit! Honestly, I think we should really blame a system/algorithm that promotes certain behaviors/metrics, especially when it's super benign like here. He works hard, and deserves the success. Random tidbits like that are fine with me - his videos really helped a casual like me really start to get back into the game after years of not playing, so newbie-friendly tips are welcome! Also, with enough of them throughout the video it ensures that even if I tune out for a little bit I can still pick up a thing or two when I switch attention back to the video haha

The actual distance of that doesn't matter... the circle will be the same size regardless of how far you originally go out if you follow his pattern. He said "about" ten, and it's probably because he wants you to build the circle within the radius of the zone you cleared out. You could theoretically go out just one block, then follow his circle pattern, and you'd still have the same circle... it would just be extremely off center of the zone you cleared out.

I saw another comment from @Henri Zwols that said: “This design has the player afk at 57 blocks above the spawn floor. That should be 24 blocks in Bedrock. So lower the afk tower.” Then followed it up with, “Sorry, 24 to 32 blocks. So use 28 scaffolding on top of the farm.” Hopefully it helps 🤷‍♀️
