Ok I know this isn’t related to this video but I have to bring this up. I just unlocked the fly skill and OMG flying in this game feels so fucking good, anyone who’s played the first game will know how damn clunky and awful the flying was, the feature feels so so so much nicer in this game it’s crazy

I just unlocked flying in Stories 1 and agree that it feels bad. The fact that you have to stop moving to look down kills me because it makes searching for dens really annoying

Change your camera to the option that lets you look around freely!! den hunting becomes an absolute breeze and you get to enjoy the scenery as a bonus🤩

Monster stats are the same regardless of no shine, golden or rainbow/platinum or low/high rank. The hatch bonuses don't matter so what matters is the gene slots that are open (which can be fixed with stims) and the genes they come with (which can be changed). You can turn any monster into the best it can possibly be at the end. When you get it doesn't matter. Needed to mention this since you said that high rank eggs have better stats. The only thing better is genes which can be transferred and like already mentioned hatch bonuses don't matter.

I assume he meant that High Rank eggs have better genes rather than stats, so they're better to look for if you need good genes to stick in a monstie. Good to know I don't need to get rid of my Low Rank Nargacuga though, I've gotten attached to him

@@freaky_owl5833 Yeah basically unless you care about the hatch bonuses for whatever reason you won't have to replace your early ones. It's a good system as far as that goes. Although in the end if you get a hold of Silverwind....there's no point in normal and green Narga.

Correction: Leveling up your prayer pot to 4 and using the finding prayer is not actually useful. Thats because charm boosts and pray boosts do not stack. Like at all. If you dont believe me you can try it yourself, use a lucky charm and head into battle with the lucky prayer active. It'll only use the effect of the charm, not the prayer. However, leveling up your prayer pot is still good because it boosts the effects of the charms itself. At level 20 the effect of the finding charm is 20%.

no, the charm and parayer do stack, maybe not all, but most o them do, just use a find charm and a find prayer and look ate the %, it stacks.

Nothing makes me happier than my Arzuros crushing a Rajang in a versus yesterday. Avatar bear ftw. 🐻 😆 I have been using paintballs like crazy to get good eggs and prayer helps a bit. The only issue I had so far is the trait bug everyone else is having. Other than that having fun.

Monsties and Riders should appear in the next Monster Hunter game as an assist Hunters can call in similar to how we recruit: Boaboa, Gajalaka, Felynes and more.

Nah, those are more like minions. Bringing a whole other monster for the entire hint would be too much. Maybe for a giant boss it might work, but only in that case.

@@TheONE-mi7sz that's true, special monsters like: Shara, Safi, Alatreon, Fati, Zorah, Dala and more are ripe for that treatment that said, the difficulty should be upped to keep it balanced.

I just thought of something. Imagine making an absolutely unstoppable mostie, an unholy fusion of multiple monsters genes not capable of existing in nature (like an unkillable, self-healing, massive DPS, Negigante). then just letting it go. Let it grow up into a full grown Nergigante Monster and watch, as it becomes the new Fatalis and bring ruin to the world.

Unless I remember wrong even if you let a Monstie go, they are forever changed and will remember you. So I’d like to imagine they would still have the same prey drive as they would if they were raised in nature but would not have the same aggression towards humans/riders/hunters as their wild counterparts.

I'm going to disagree with the advice I keep hearing about not to worry about this or that in low rank. This is one reason I didn't get bored with Rise, I didn't rush through the game. I don't rush through any game. I I always stop and do this or that in the early and middle game if it's fun. If you rush through a game you will always run out of content. If you like trying to make a low rank ultra monstie squad, then do it. If you like getting every low rank weapon and armor set, then do it. High rank will still be waiting for you. This isn't a race. Doing something that results in things you won't need later isn't a waste of time, the point of a video game is to have as much fun as possible, not be the fastest or most efficient. Even speed runners speed run because that is what's fun to them.

When I say don't worry about it I don't mean don't touch the mechanic, I just mean don't break your back on the mechanic when you don't have access to the whole thing. If you want to do so that's perfectly fine, just my opinion! I always advocate that people should have fun however it comes to them, I am just trying to guide those who don't know what they want :)

I mean it's not like anyone is demanding that you don't do it. It's simply stating that: If you want to ignore certain things then here is a list of all of the things you can ignore and be perfectly fine. Especially in this context, all he said was that once you unlock HR it's advisable to start farming HR monsties vs trying to fill out a low rank set...which is true...but again no one is forcing you to do this. Which is kind of how you made it sound, like people were berating you for this in previous games, which if that's true fuck 'em. Idk felt someone needed to chime in because your comment seems to have negativity to it, like with "this isn't a race", everyone knows that. However to some people (like myself) it IS a race and to those people this video is great information, which I'm assuming was the target audience for it.

true, im milking the earlygame dry just to see where i can get all the monsties and test the limits of some low tier monsties i like, it's just more enjoyable to me that way. i would love to get astalos and nergigante and all that, but im 100% going to take my time and play at least a couple hours with tobi-kadachi and zamtrios and all my favorites before they retire at the stables in the lategame

@@CottonDynosour That said, you should clarify that the low rank monsters don't have different stats than ones you get from high rank. That is the major point of confusion people are getting when you say the high rank monsters are "better". The genes are better yes, but the monster itself, nor the bonus stats you get don't differ between low and high rank. If you are after weaker tier monsters, it's probably easier to farm the monsters you want before you finish the story and the zones get flooded with stronger monsters.

Been playing through the story of stories 2 using any monsties I like along the way I don’t plan on doing any specific monstie hunting aside from maybe the fated 4 and royal monsters until post game then get my grind on and hunt genes and make my ideal post game party

@@monarch_and_cheese40 [Contains potential spoilers] Snow area, at the Glacial peaks catavan (where the Royal zinogre is) - don't go through the fence. You will either find a free roaming Legiana that you can paintball, or find an egg in rare dens in that area. I think you "unlock" legiana after defeating the rage rayed Seltas Queen, although it could be shortly after that.

I'm super unlucky with the eggs. The final egg in a Nest seems always to be either a Herbivore like Popo or one of the basic Bird Wyverns like Baggi or Jaggi. I'm always thinking "Should I take this rare Anjanath egg? Nah I'll continue." and just to rub it in the next and final egg is a super rare Baggi egg or something like that.

bought the game last week, played it for like 5 hrs. still gotten nowhere. I just roam around dens and try to get some cool monsties and forage items off the ground. The customization part of this game is great. Super stoked to play it on the weekends.

Roar has one advantage over stealth, stealth lets you attack monsters from stealth. Roar let’s you stun monsters and make it impossible for them to touch you to you them. Helpful if there is a fat Gravios blocking your tiny path. Almost funny running thru a monster that size with a Nergigante or a galloping Gammoth. Gammoth stats are great(despite being marked as having the highest health pretty much, is lower then some glass cannons), but majestically galloping thru the overworld spamming her majestic roar brings me immeasurable degrees of happiness.

The real trick is getting a Monstie that has little to no locked genes. Sure, you can use prayer and charms (separately and not together) to boost the rarity rate of eggs but, so far I’ve had platinum Narcaguga eggs that should only have 1 or no locked genes give me 2 locked genes consistently. Either my luck is extremely bad or I need to get my prayer pot to the level where I can have 18% charm efficiency.

Yeah, they‘re really just rare. I read somewhere that their spawn rate each time you enter an area is 0.1 %.

@@cedricmeisser1208 yep 160 hrs in right now and I’ve only seen 6. And all just random encounters. Not really worth farming deviants and elders that way. Not to mention if you just want to fully upgrade the armor or weapons you might as well do it in elders lair since they res pawn over and over at 8 and 9. But if you want to far their genes, multiplayer is the way to go, which tbh super rare dens are pointless.

I don't care about Platinum glow right now, I JUST FOUND AN AGNAKTOR!!!! I'M GOING TO SEE A BABY CLACK CLACK! Update: I just looked it up, Agnaktor is not an option for being a Monstie... WHY CAPCOM, WHY??? You Bring back Monster the Fans have been crying out for, Seltas and Seltas Queen, Duramboros, the Hermitaurs, the Agnaktors, AND WE CAN'T RIDE THEM! And don't give me that crap about "Oh we don't know where the Rider will sit." Seltas Queen and Duramboros have MASSIVE OPEN SPACES ON THEIR BODIES that would perfectly accommodate a Saddle (Seltas Queen's Head and one of Duramboros' humps) And all of the other Leviathans are available as Monsties, SO WHY NOT AGNAKTOR?????? As for Hermitaur... Admittedly I can't think of where the Saddle might go given the shell, so Capcom gets a pass on the crabs, but I'm still upset about it.

rainbow glow is the platinum eggs a single color is the golden egg. usually navirou also says they reek if theyre platinum whereas gold is "kinda stinky"

yee at a set point anything you have built up in lowrank will be redundent though not super redundent kinda like around and weapons in normal MH

Not quite, and there's a lot of misunderstanding going on when people say "better". The base stats and bonus stats themselves are the same. There is technically no such thing as low rank or high rank monsties. For example, an Anjanath you get from low rank will have the exact same stats as an Anjanath from high rank, but the high rank one will have better genes. You could hypothetically transfer the genes from the new high rank one into the low rank one and they will essentially be the same thing.

Get a rainbow glowing egg (I know he calls them platinum but no one calls them that tho..) Sometimes they will have a rainbow gene randomly. But only the rainbow glowing ones have a chance to have the gene.

A small note: The "Weight" of the eggs are static, they simply indicate the star rating of the monster. A 1* monster such as Aptonoth will always have very light eggs while a 5 or 6* monster will have very heavy eggs.
