But we've got to stay optimistic guys - today might be worse than yesterday, but it sure is better than tommorow! :)

Notice how there are metal rings around them? They represent left and right and power terminals. When you plug it into your phone, the terminals connect to your phone so the correct sound is played for your left ear, right ear, and also to power up your headphones. BUT these terminals are always exposed, meaning if water touches the terminals it can interfere with the left/right/power terminals (kind of like short circuiting electronics) and create some weird sound, or maybe even break your earphone. there is no such thing as a waterproof headphone, because currently, the headphone jacks are always exposed.

The S5 being water resistant and having a very good camera (in good conditions anyway) sealed the deal for me. From the comparisons I've seen so far it appears the iPhone 6 has a better all-round camera, while the S5 is more situational. Other important factors include the MicroSD slot for up to 128 GB changeable storage :)

well on my gzone commando 3g verision when speakers were submerged and got wet the quality would lack but after a few min of drying they would be back to normal so i wold expect the same

The only open part between the board, bezel, and inside the back housing -- is the battery compartment. It is made water resistant by the battery door, which has the seal between all the parts inside the phone. Source: I'm a phone tech, and have disassembled the S5 for repairs purposes.

Court Mejias well the could be a bit smaller, that being said they are beautifully designed devices and exude quality in the hand. The only negative thing I could say about the Xperia Z1 is the viewing angles could be better but viewed straight on the display is excellent.

MrHenk588 An IP67 actually is water proof. IP 6 - Totally protected against entry of dust. 7 - Protected against the effect of IMMERSION between 15cm and 1 meter or 3.3 feet of water. Do some research into the IP rating system If it has the IP67 rating its not water resistant it is water proof (for an hour)
