My parents never bought me the comic, but Ultimate Spider-Man is still my favorite superhero video game. Evwn more than arkham city and injustice combined. The different suits have different stats. There was a rampage mode where you could play as venom. It had cheat codes that I swear I never used. You could just swing around the entire island beating up bad guys ignoring the story. It was peak spidey imo, so good it spoiled all other spiderman games for me.

Broo I remember the days when I had to go to an internet cafe just to play ultimate spiderman. I was like 7 back then but I never got to play through the whole thing until I was 15. I'm glad other people have the same sentiments on how fun that game was.

The fact that it had a complete story and had an actual ending really made this so much better I loved the characterization as well I love miles too as a concept but he really needed some more pizazz and I think the movies and insomniac games finally gave him the personality he should have always had

Was going to say lol. Not the way I expected his interaction with Peter was going to go. Though I do assume he just feels like crap for being a bad father and him telling Peter to stay away and MJ to no talk to him again, then he feels like he might have a chance to be a better father with MJ close by all the time.

While Peter dying was beautifully done, the full ending of the Miles arc where Peter and MJ leave to find how he survived, and retiring as Spider-Man was also well done imo. Maybe a subject for a part 2 of this? Going over the Miles arc?

Ah Ultimate Spider-Man my favorite Spider-Man media outside of the Stern Run of the 1980s. I remember being 10 and my Grandma buying me the second trade paperback in 2004 when Spider-Man 2 was coming out and Doc Ock was super popular. I found later individual issues at my local library and collected trades. Honestly Marvel making an effort to do so many trades of Ultimate content and the early 2000s Marvel line are what got me reading through my teens into the 2010s when the books became expensive hot trash. but that time from 2004-2013 was a pivotal time in my fandom. the games, the start of the MCU, all of it was a perfect storm through my middle and high school years

My younger brother collected these comics when they 1st released and I still have em now, along with over 100 issues for 'The Astonishing Spider-Man'. If only I kept all my Archie Sonic comics from when I was a kid, or my Simpsons comics (yes, The Simpsons had a fortnightly comic lol).

So Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man is the literal on screen live action version of this Spider-Man and while others love the comic they hate the films (smh) but really I believe they are some of the best Spider-Man stories told/filmed. The second movie only goes wrong with pacing and storyline setup. Andrew deserves another one

@@dbgoat4436 Toby doesn’t make his webs and his villains weren’t animal crossbreeds where as andrews story had the story about his parent, corrupt oscorp, the lizard dna and spider crossbreeds. Even in the amazing Spider-Man 1 video game the villains were mostly machines or genetic crossbreeds (ex: the rhino)

Yeah Miles comes after Peter dies. His Uncle Aaron stole a spider from Oscorp that was supposed to have the same radioactivity and grant the user the same powers as Spider-Man plus more. Miles came over apartment/house one day and the spider went to him and bit him.
